Your list is pretty good...I would go with the Knicks or Blazers in NBA.

Knicks and t-blazers have owners with very deep pockets and both teams are profitable.

You guys may not be paying attention enough to the NHL...

My beloved Islanders have been reduced to a laughingstock. The worst thing is that it isn't a bunch of bad players or a bad GM or a bad coach you can just dump - it's a certifiable nutbag owner, and as we know, those don't exactly go quietly into the night, so he probably isn't going anywhere for a while.

But hey, at least we have a goaltender for the next 15 years....

Really...........or being sarcastic?

Yes. They are in a funk that they have been trying to get out of since Marino retired. They are not traditional losers, but you can certainly say they are traditional under achievers

but at least they have had multiple winning seasons since and even a few playoff appearances. I don't know how anyone could say a franchise is worse off than the Lions right now in the NFL. think about it, most teams fire the general manager after he screws up...but that ownership is going to be loyal and just endure every shitty decision Millen makes no matter what! where else could someone have made the decisions that guy has made the past few seasons and still have his job?

texans, are u serious...they got a nice stadium...lots of young talent...i honestly think they are on the right track...if they are smart they will keep carr, and continue to build around him...and lions big problem is they have poor mgmt.

It depends on how you look at it. It is much tougher being on top and falling back to mediocrity then to be mediocre and fall to the bottom.

They really weren't any good with Marino either, that guy got to ONE superbowl and lost badly, then never really came close again.

ORIOLES

They have an owner who doesnt want to compete and uses the division he is in as an excuse.
Plus he is always blocking front office moves. i.e. Orioles could have had Roy Oswalt for Tejeda that he blocked.

only reason I think Lions more than Royals is b/c its more difficult in baseball, with all the teams that do take on the big salaries and when you do get talent in a small market its hard to keep...(royals did have beltran, damon, etc). In the NFL, a high draft pick, a couple key acqusitions and a new coach can get the franchise turned around...meanwhile the Lions have been drafting high, changing coaches, and spending money for years and this is what they've come up with? another 0-5 start, too pathetic.

also, at least the Royals have a world series championship in it's history and made the WS two times, while the Lions haven't made the Super Bowl. So no winning ever, horrible owner, horrible management, and they forced the franchise's most prolific player of all-time into retirement.
