The Gators did not dominate that game by any means. But they won it.
LSU fucked up. But people act like if they went in for the score at the 1 yd line that it was game, set and match in the 2nd quarter with a 14-7 lead. Florida outgained LSU in every yardage category up until the 4th quarter, when Florida went into soft coverage because they were up 3 possesions and allowed LSU to complete everything underneath.
It's not like the Gators were getting out-played, out-rushed, out-passed, or out-defensed.
And two of those INT's were without a shadow of doubt caused by Reggie Nelsons hit that squirted the ball up in the air for an INT. I mean, thats just great defense. He was also there to drill rethe LSU receiver down the sideline on the fly pattern, for another INT for Ryan Smith, another great defensive play. At what point do we say Florida played good defense, aside from LSU's special teams mistakes? I mean Florida has been creating these INT's all year, it wasnt a fluke vs. LSU.
And like I said, UF's opening drive, they were doing whatever they wanted offensively, they had LSU completely off balance until UF fumbled on the LSU 25 yard line. I have no doubt that that drive was ending in a TD the way UF was moving the ball. But nobody mentions that.
