Firepay, PartyPoker, PokerStars, VIP just a few of the big ones. I don't understand, I thought US customers were atleast 60% of the Customer Base. I don't know any stats but why would Partypoker be so willing to give up half their profits with out a fight at all. These sites will still have non Us customers but how could they exist w/o the US customers. Besides soccer all of the Major sports bet are in the USA so I would assume most books closing to US customers that aren't a big soccer books will be ruined.

My guess is that many of the members of the various Boards are also members of other non-gambling Boards and they need to be able to travel in and out of the US freely. The Bill, combined with the arrests this summer, makes that impossible for them.

Now, if the UK gov't would just GROW A PAIR and take the US to the WTO, this situation could be different.

This is easy. As we know every country around the globe is afraid of
the mighty USA. This is cut and dry. I do not care what anyone says.
This is why the world is like it is today. So even though we are land of
the free, we will still lock up just about anyone and throw away the
key. Goodbye gambling as we know it. Everyone is shaking in their boots.

Ahh Slim! You have all the answers! Why would I stroll down a Bagdad street when I'm perfectly safe in the USA? This has nothing to do with the fact that we want to play poker online, and these sites are PUSSIES for giving up their revenue! If I were going to lose a BILLION $$$$ a year if I gave up the USA, I'm going to fight for it one way or the other! Screw the USA. Let's GAMBLE!

Besides, if Party Poker and Sportsbook.com gives it up, who cares? It's not like there aren't a hundred more sites to gamble on! Is there not CRIS and Pinnacle and others to hold our interests? Gimmee a break! I'll keep gambling wherever they give me an option to! Screw those sites that won't give us an option!

Bet-It-All: I'm glad you started this thread. I'll be the first to admit that I paid very little attention to the anti gambling bill because I didn't feel it was worth the paper it's printed on. The bill still isn't worth the paper it's printed on but I didn't realize there were so many gutless sportsbooks out there that are afraid of the US. The US has no jurisdiction over the offshore sportsbooks whatsoever. None.

It amazes me that these chicken shit sportsbooks are paying any attention to this legislation. You never let anyone dictate how you run your business unless they have the authority to make you do so. In this situation, the US has zero authority over how an offshore sportsbook does business and who they have as customers.

I've read in a few different places the possibility of legal challenges to the bill and possibly some places asking the WTO to get involved. There's no reason for any legal challenges because the legislation has no legal standing outside of the US. The WTO has no reason to get involved just because the gutless British books and some other gaming sites are afraid of the US and won't stand up and tell the US exactly where to go.
