I got a chance to see a few more Kessler fights and I'm not as impressed as others are about this kid. Now don't get me wrong this kid packs a punch and seems to have good boxing smarts also reminded me of a super middleweight version of Kostya Tzuyu stalking his opponents down waiting for the perfect opportunity to lay down the boom. However, I don't see him beating a Calzaghe right now (possibly a couple years from now) or someone who can box and stay away from the power. I do see him winning this weekend though. Your opinions?

I would also pick Calzaghe to beat him right now. Kessler seems to be a bit green, and he only seems to be effective when the other guy isn't coming forward or countering. He just isn't busy enough to fight a guy like Calzaghe, who would beat him on pure activity and aggression.

That being said, he's a methodical, typical Euro fighter with good pop in both hands, a bit like Tszyu indeed. That's more than enough to beat the average Beyer (and most of the 168 division, IMO.)

I'd like to see him against Allan Green. They have a similar build but Green is more of a free-swinging puncher. No idea who would win that one.

I wish I could offer an opinion on Kessler, but truth of the matter is, I haven't seen him fight yet! I will be on the road on Saturday, so I won't even be able to see him then. I wonder if STVnow will be showing it. I haven't clicked over there in a couple of weeks when they were doing "maintenance"

HBO will be showing exclusive clips from what I hear of the Kessler vs Beyer fight during the telecast of the Calzaghe fight tomorrow night. For a few clips of Kessler check out you tube and google video.

This guy would beat Green IMO. The worst type of boxer for Green to fight is an accurate albeit not active, calculating one with power. I think Green would be ripe for the picking for Kessler and catch him one good time and goodnight!

I recant my statement about Kessler staying away from Calzaghe after watching him tonight. He's one accurate straight right from getting his first "L" IMO
