Just tried to login to a sportsbook.com account I have had for a long time. Have kept a small balance here for line shopping purposes and now wanted to withdraw it because with the upcoming legal issues I am consolodating at Pinnacle.

When trying to login, I get account has been disabled, please call their 800 number. I have just live chat with CS and they said wagering online is not available in my location. When I asked for all available funds to be sent to my Neteller account, they tell me they are not processing any withdrawls for deactivated accounts and they will email me when they have a solution.

Obviously this is unacceptable! Anyone else have problems getting their balance from Sportingbet PLC??

Also, I have confirmed with 3 other people who are in the same situation as of today. This is not an isolated incident.

Thanks! Actually I ended up calling the Canadian number without any problems. The rep was very polite and hopefully I'll see my funds in the next 15 minutes.

It's possible that in reaction to the gambling bill, and the charges against Peter Dicks by Louisiana, that Sportingbet is taking a position that it will not do business with states who have anti-internet gambling bills.

Those states are:

Illinois
Louisiana
Nevada
Oregon
S. Dakota

Presuming the 'Windy City' still means Chicago, this poster may be having difficulty for this reason.

On the plus side, it would be quite something if these publicly traded companies can get around the bill by just avoiding certain states. Obviously this is no consolation to people living in these states, but it would be a benefit to the industry as a whole.

Overview of state gambling laws:

http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d0389.pdf#search=""GAO 03-89 Internet Gambling""

I will try to find out more about this today.

This is BS. I can't understand why some posters are saying business as usual. It's a different landscape now than it was a month ago for sure

Well I was lucky enough to get my money from sportingbet almost immediately. On to the next account.:smoking: At one time I had 12 active accounts at different books. Not anymore I'm consolidating to 3 or 4. Hopefully for those such as pw having trouble, the situation gets resolved quickly.

I have written to Sportsbook.com asking how and when this player can withdraw his funds. I have also asked about their position regarding players from those states with anti-gambling laws.

Hopefully we will hear something official soon.

pwdump: my email is tanya@therx.com if you wish to contact me directly. Thanks!

I don't live in one of the listed states and my account was disabled. They also claim they're going to void my pending future bets and refund the money to me ASAP. WTF???

Two hours ago I requested new banners from a handful of sponsors. The first book to send me one was Sportsbook. I'm inclined to think that if they were pulling out of the US, they would have ignored the email for a day or so, after the bill is signed, and a statement of intent were issued.
