I still can't believe Washington didn't trade him when they had the chance.

I really don't beleive this report...few reasons...

The Nationals are alredy denieing the report, which came from a Dominican Newspaper.

If Miguel Tejada got $13million/season on the open market, recently...I find it difficult to beleive that Soriano would be seeking $15mill+...or the Nationals would be able to offer that kind of doe (even w/ the new stadium).

I am skeptical as well. I don't think Soriano will resign with Washington no matter what they offer...but I don't think Washington would be offering $70 million for 5 years. That is a lot of dough.

Soriano knows he is going to get paid. I think he knows there are much better situations out there than the Nationals.

agreed...he'll get paid, but i will be blown away if its anywhere near $15mill/season...maybe a few years back, like 1999-2002. But the market has far changed.

I can see him getting a 5 yr deal for $60 mill...in that ballpark range.

Yankees signed Damon (one of the most premium ones last year) for $48M/4 years and part of this was to spite Boston.

I don't see Soriono getting more than this.

I sure would love to see my Giants just let Bonds go and give that same money to Soriano or Cabrera from Florida.

Soriano will DEFINITLEY get more than 11million a year. He's definitley getting more than what Damon got. I'd guess around 14-16 million a year when its all said and done. He does like Washington but not enough to shy away from a few million elsewhere.

Clip, I think all 17 Marlins fans left would shoot themselves if they found out that the Marlins couldn't keep the future 10-time All Star Cabrera.

:lolBIG:

I am excited for this offseason as a Giants fan though...IF we don't give Bonds big bucks. Between him, Alou, Finley, Durham, Feliz, and Schmidt, we will have as much money to spend as ANYONE in the free agent market.

I would love to see us offer this type of money to Cabrera. I am not a big fan of Soriano.
