I am the king when it comes to panic. I'm trying my best not go overboard. I have taken 15% of my bank roll offshore since the talking of signing of this bill.

I still have a number of accounts funded, and feel safe with the few I have.

This WWTS thing does not look good in my opinion. I am reading guys have been trying to get their money out all week. That is NOT a good sign. I can empathize with those that have money at WWTS, I lost money at BoS recently.

All I can say, is simmer down a bit. It's not the signing of the bill thats hurting us, it's all this damn panic.

I still don't see why some books are pulling out of the US market. Nothing has been etched in stone, hell, they are a long way from enforcing this bill, and there are tons of places jumping ship without a fight. That's what puzzles me.

Anways, try and keep your cool and see how the next few weeks pan out. I have a feeling we will never see this bill enforced, why should it be, before it even give out any details everyone is jumping ship.

I am reading some of these post, and really laughing my ass off. Although, I was doing the same shit about 2 months back with BoS.

Very good post--its important for everyone to relax. As far as BigBet's observation that he doesn't see why some books are pulling out without a fight, its because they've got "action" in an even bigger "book"--specifically the London Stock Exchange--that they don't want to see adversely impacted. It makes sense for them to take some sort of proactive stance on changing market conditions but the chance that they're just going to write off the US market is slim and none. Look for more "sales of US facing businesses to current management" like sportsbook.com and other similar machinations...

WWTS' situation doesn't look good on the surface, but my guess is that will all work out with the sale of their US facing properties to private entitites....

Bigbet, since you lost 80k when Bos folded the tent, your post is scary.

Id be alot less worried if you were more nervous.

I've seen everthing now-but Bigbet is right.

FWIW, I don't think it will be a matter of weeks-at least with WWTS. I would say hours or possibly a day or two.

They stated last night that they will either sell the US business or refund balances within 48 hours. Why is this so hard to comprehend?

This Is What You Get For Voting For George Bush!

Exactly what the Feds ordered when the Republicans sneakily and cowardly attached the gambling bill to the ports bill and anti-terrorism bill. We all should have worked harder to defeat Bush and his posse. Now, we know what it felt like to live in Germany in the early 30's and see the rise of fascism. Good Luck to all who have funds in WWTS!
