Regarding trying to call and place a wager, WWTS has not taken wagers over the phone for some time now.

I have been trying since yesterday to withdraw my funds from WWTS just in case something "bad" went down. I was told yesterday that my money would be transferred today. When I just called I was told that all operations are currently suspended (at least for US customers) and there would be a further update at around noon eastern time. Even though I made my request prior to this law being passed I'm not sure if it's going to go through or not.

Keeping my fingers crossed, but I don't think this is routine maintenance.

The joke is that YOU believe that their site is down for maintenance. They have frozen all U.S. accounts until they figure out their next move. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't like people taht are holding my money freezing my access to it while they mull over whether to pay it back or not. If you don't believe me call for yourself....1-800-580-5558.

I have a bad feeling on this one. They are looking after shareholder interests first, their own asses second. Players are 3rd or 4th in line. I hope I'm wrong.

I love how a few people with a few thousand posts said, hey no worries, you all are safe. I dont play their but it just goes to show, anyone of these places at any given time can freeze your shit and say, sit tight. It's just the way it is.

Yep...a place is safe until it isn't.

I like how I got stalled on my withdraw for a day, as they knew they were going to freeze accounts. This the move of a sportsbook thinking of keeping your money.

If wwts can't maintain operations through this, then nobody can be trusted to be able too. I've played offshore since the mid-90's and have seen it all. These outfits can make tons and tons of money without American $$ and why would they risk going to jail (in the United States). Lets face it , it is mostly Americans running these places and they want to be able to come home without fear of life in prison.
It is truly a sad sad day for American offshore players. You can ridicule me if you want and say I don't know what I'm talking about, but a true giant in the industry has fallen. There is nobody left to trust.

WWTS isn't a done deal yet. It just doesn't look good. Let's see what their big announcement is.

Many people here have said thousands of times that this dumb-ass legislation will drive the industry 'underground' - to anonymous private companies you who are TRUSTING with deposits. These last few years the public companies and licensing jurisdictions were looking to provide additional security and routes to ensure players were dealt with fairly. With this legislation it seems their directors all concluded that suddenly their personal risks are too great and they should follow legal rather than commercial advice. Bottom line is in choosing a book trust is again a huge factor. Forums like these are about the only accountability that is left in the industry - choose the books that pay attention to them and address legitimate issues that are raised on them. It's almost inconceivable that WWTS will just shut it's doors rather than follow Sportingbet and VIP's lead. Their directors for sure seem like they are panicking but chances are they will sell this business to a private corp, stiffing their shareholders, and leaving someone with a profitable business to run. But you never know! Maybe WWTS has no cash left and the potential buyers have been negotiating too tough to leave the directors even a no-risk route.

Gentlemen, let me ASSURE YOU there is no difference between WWTS, WSEX, Pinnacle or Olympic - these are the 4 classic books of all time - who knows what happens now.

There is a hell of a big difference.

WWTS became a public company about 2 years ago when the owners sold it and floated it.

The others are private companies.
