Devils advocate is:

It;s way out of control from say 20 years ago as i didn;t get my first bookie till I was 32 and married, though I did gamble via card games, horses and Tahoe, but not everyday.

Todays college kids don;t need the 2 bit campus bookie just the click of a mouse.

So the addicton is rampet and they come out of school with student loans and this monkey on thier back.

How many college kids have come and gone on this forum and others.

But they pay thier dues and wise up no different than 20 years ago, just there are more of us now.

For whatever my opinion is worth...

We are going through a consolidation period in offshore gambling right now. The offshore business is busy adapting, restructuring and reorganizing. This business draws enough revenue to become a fortune 100 company. It will not be denied and that money will NOT be left on the table. The US government is pissing in the wind. Did you notice the new legislation was exceptionally careful to avoid making offshore gambling illegal?

Be patient. Ride the storm out. This too shall pass and things will be better than ever.

Good luck, boys.

I came out of school with a bunch of student loans and I didn't even gamble--thanks to sports betting I've been able to pay 'em off ; )

the US govt no longer represents its people well and is a total failure in international policies.

US govt doesnt care that the railroaded gaming bill is hugely unpopular 90-10% against it in every poll I have seen, what they do care about is special interests. That is who controls our contry now.

it is a fucking disgrace. 3rd party is badly needed

Another misconception these forums bring to the next generation is that nobody loses, just look at all the winners at the rx.

Meanwhile it is a 12 billion dollar industy yet no ones losing.

Now this is as I said Devils advocate and I;m dead set against big brother telling me not to do what I want to do,hell who am I hurting but myself possibly makinig my life more prosperious.

That is a really bad defense for sports betting, its great that you hit a streak and even better you put the money to good use, but pushing gambling as a source of income is about the worst thing you could ever do.

Not for some!

By the way, when in college, used my student loans to fly to Vegas and gamble.

Those were the days!

America is no more.

Look what happened to Jay C.....had nothing to do with law.....show me where the US Govt. had any jurisdiction over that case? The law means nothing....the G can do whatever it wants.....until it is stopped. Wisen up people......and keep voting Republican....soon they'll have them cameras Orwell predicted.....everywhere. I agree with you over all . But don't think it really has much to do with Reps-Dems. It's got to be an individual person at the bottom of it all. For instance..Take a look at Hillary Clinton. In her college days, I've read where she was a Goldwater Conservative... Today? You tell me what she.." It Takes a Village" (her book).
Most of these folks are simply con artists that have a lot of polish and even more money to get their way. Nothing to do with a Dem-Rep.

I will agree that the majority of both parties are CON artists (pun definitely intended),but it has been the republicans that have been heralding themselves since the early 90's as the party of Moralists, with their we are 'better than they' type attitude. So, whether it be Republicans caught seeking young men or Republicans inserting anti-gambling legislation onto an anti-terrorist bill in a last-minute secret session, their hypocritical attitudes/platitudes need to be checked and shouted about from the rooftops. Their perfidy needs to be put in check.

When I was a kid growing up in the country. The Democrats were more of the religious --right wing- type folks. They were preceived that way. It's as stupid of course as can be. Vote AGAINST all incumbants--maybe one or two will get a clue.

That's true, I had forgotten that. You have to remember though, all of the Cons that used to be Dems in the South all went over to the Carpetbagging Republican Party and made their ancestors jump around in their graves over their hypocrisy! LOL.:puppy:
