I know sportsbook.com does, but it cost 25 cents in the NFL and I'm getting tired of them taking forever to release lines when other books have them up very quickly. What about Pinnacle or 5dimes? Thanks...

Don't do it. It's a sucker bet anyway. Never 'buy' points i dont care if the spread falls on 3,7,10,14 whatever. If you dont like the game at 7, you shouldnt like it at 7.5 either.

Yeah, I know, but it's more of me wanting to leave sportsbook.com to find another book and the "buying points" option would just be another benefit of a new book.

Many books charge 10 c for that .5. Guess what that means you are typically doubling your juice for that game. If I dont like a game enough to bet at 3, I'm not going to double my juice to get it at 3.5/2.5.

Well since you are one of the sharpest posters on here and I rarely disagree with anything you say we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. I wasnt necessarily intending to advise him what to do I was more expressing my opinion on buying points.

<HR style="COLOR: #fdde82" SIZE=1> <!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->I'd happily treble my juice for 2.5 ;)

If the line is that tight (3 or less), you could argue the underdog could easily win this game outright, easily. Depending on the size of your bet, this could get very expensive.

Joey, you are completely misinformed. It's generally accepted by professionals that the half point onto and off the 3 in the NFL is worth 22-23 cents. This means that -3 -132 is equal to -3.5 -110, etc. No book that pays in their right mind would every let you buy from 3.5 to 3 for 10 cents. It can be done for 20 cents though fairly easily at books like betroyal and heritage. And just off the top of my head, a half pt. around the 7 in NFL is around 16-17 cents. The numbers are slightly lower in college. A good way to figure it out is go with what pinnacle says. See how much they charge you for taking a half pt. off and see how much better they make the line when you sell a half point. Now average the two and you have the value of that half point.

I dont buy the half point, never have, which is why I wasnt aware how much they charged. I assumed it was typically an additional 10 c but if its 20 c, that just further validates my point for me.

Again my whole point here is simple. If you dont like the game at 3, you shouldnt like it enough at 2.5 to pay double or triple juice to get that line.

My opinion.

Not for nothing, and I know tonights game is not on 3 or 7 but Skybook will let you buy as many .5 you'd like at 10c a pop.

books that let you off of three for 10 cents fail, like Blue Marlin.

SIA is about the only book I know of with no point buying.

Joey, if you're content with your ignorance there is not much I can do to help you become a winner, i guess.

fwiw, if you think the fair line is 2.5, you should be blindly betting at +3 if you can find it. Of course, you thinking the line should be 2.5 means nothing, because you clearly do now know what you're talking about.
