I need to find a new book. With WTTS going down the shitter and all. I am a small player no real big bets for me. I also like to play the ponies. I have looked at a few choices and think I might go with Chris. Labeeb and some of the other horse players please let me know what you think. Give me a list to start with.

What kind of bonus is out there. I am not a bonus whore but if I'm going to change books I may as well get a good bonus.

Lots of good racebooks out there. Pinnacle, CRIS, eHorse, BetJamaica, many more.

The biggest bonus I know about is at SportBet. Jake will give you 50% on your first deposit if you are a new customer.

The book with the widest selection of tracks is The Greek (Olympic), but no rebate there. Even the smallest tracks are offered there.

If you have not taken a look at eHorseX (betting exchange) it is pretty cool. You might be interested.

I would side with Bob instead of Chris. Just kidding...

Ehorsex is an absolute must have for all of your win betting needs. The prices you can get there over the tote are substantial in most cases. Fixed odds wagering with some scalp opportunities as well Then for Place, Show and exotic wagering CRIS is a solid choice. Pinnacle right there as well. Rebates vary from each depending on whether you are betting WPS or exotics and whether you call in your wager.

BetUSA.com offers 3% rebates on all horse bets win or lose and 8% reloads every day.

More than 120 tracks covered so unless you handicap some pretty obscure stuff then you'd be fine.

The 10% bonus that 5dimes pays on all winning bets will trump any rebate out there, including pinnacle's 7% rebate on total action.

Here the difference between the above two , you hit a $ 1 5 dime pick 4 say 4 times at Pinnacle you get paid 20 dimes plus your rebate, at 5Dimes you get max 600-1 after the first $2 payout on the Pick 4, so to me Pinnacle is tops. They pay you out in full odds and plus give you rebate.

I am an avid Pick 3, Pick 4 guy so getting paid track odds for these exotic is a must for me.

Just my 2 cents.

I agree with VT here. Only CRIS and Pinnacle even come close to paying out full track payouts on multi-race exotics. All of these other books cap them. We've been down that road once before.

For exotics, Pinny and CRIS are necessities. CRIS reportedly does not dump into mutuel pools whereas Pinnacle may book or may dump your bets. Pinnacle's actions have always been up for debate.

If you're making a wager that pays more than 600-1, then yes pinnacle is better. Otherwise it is 5dimes. Think about it. for every $100 an average bettor wagers, he gets back about $83 (the other 17 goes to the house). So for every $100 wagered, the 5dimes bonus will net you $8.30, whereas pinnacle's rebate on the $100 wagered will net you $7. Even if the track take is higher which it is on exotics, as long as it's less than 30%, 5dimes is better.

Dont get me wrong, I agree 10 % plus is a good thing. I thought I read its only for exoctics though. Plus with Pinny you get 7% on every wager win or lose, where as 5 dimes tops off the winning tickets only. I dont play there so i dont know for sure.

I am lazy I bet 20 , 30 dimes a week in horses but always played thru locals (just easier for me, always has been) but with me playing into Pinny now it really proves how lazy (stupid) Ive have been.

I'm thinking about it. Ok, done thinking. While your example may prove true for the average of all bettors, the more accurate assessment would be to look at the median of all bettors. I would argue that there are a small number of bettors at the high end that win in amounts that skew the distribution, such that a large majority of bettors would fall below average and therefore benefit from getting 7% on all wagers as opposed to 10% on winning wagers only.

Regardless of that argument, one just needs to look at their payout caps. $20 at track odds on a win wager on "other" tracks such as Lone Star and Woodbine? $2 exactas at track odds, then capped at 165/1 at "major" tracks? Give me a break. These guys are one step ahead of the joker outfits that have straight caps across the board and about 5 steps behind CRIS or Pinnacle.

The 10% bonus from 5Dimes is on winning win and exotic wagers only.
