OT-Any Ohio State Alumni Here?

I have been looking for tickets to the UM/OSU tickets ( Ebay/Stubhub/Etc) and most them say, in some form or another, send additional funds for student id so you can sit in the student section...Anywhere from $ 15.00-$50.00. I don't mind the extra dough but how is this possible? I would think the student id would be something difficult to pull off. Never seen anything like this when buying tickets to other NCAA games.

If anyone has any insight into this, please let me know...

the student id is for student tickets. A family member can you use a student id to attend a game if the student does not wish to go. you are probably paying for the student to replace that id.

I dont know if it has changed, but 2 or 3 years ago, the student could go to some office and purchase an upgrade. Then anyone could use it. I am not sure if they have to upgrade the whole season or can do individual games, but they must do it in advance (Not game day)

Call the ticket office for details.

This was done in response to keep so many OSU students from scalping their tickets. Students would sell their Michigan game tickets and get enough money from that game alone to pay for alcohol for the entire school year. Supposedly they're making you show your OSU Student I.D if you happen to have a student ticket. I'm not too sure how much they are enforcing this new rule. If you have any questions or need any help, feel free to get a hold of me. I can make a few calls and have a definite answer.

I plan on being there myself for that one. :toast:

Alright, thanks guys...appreciate it. I will look into the upgrade feature. Figured the student id would have a photo on it to match up with the tickets but guess not.

One more heads up for you if you plan on going to any OSU game- If you're going to tailgate and drink, be sure to keep it in a cup. No visible signs of alcohol. Beer can, etc. Campus police have been cracking down on it. Get there early and go to the Heine Gate (sponsored by Heinekin) and enjoy Kegs and Eggs! Enjoy the Varisty Club as well.

as far as student tix are concerned, they can still be upgraded for 30 a pop and have to be done by the student whose name is on the tix at the tix office in person. If you don't upgrade, the ushers really don't give a sh!t about the picture and name on the actually student ID, they just want to know you have one. I have tons of friends that use students tix (not upgraded) with female asian names and they are white males, so if that works, anything will. Also the crowds will be rushing in 30 minutes or so before gametime and the tix takers don't have time for it. Hope this helps and if you run into any extra tix let me know.

Cool, thanks...If you have the time and you can check on if/how they are enforcing this policy, I would like to know. I am trying to have tickets in hand before I leave for the game as this is my first trip to OSU.

CSFBB- I'll call a season ticket holder (my Sister) and ask her what she knows. It's after 10 pm back East..I'll give her a ring tomorrow and definitely let you know if I hear any different. I doubt you'll have any problems getting in.

Let me know if I can help you out any with your first trip questions, places to stay, stuff to do, etc. since you're a first timer in Columbus.

I'm flying back into Columbus for that game as well. Might make it a week long Turkey Day vacation if I can.
