Thats funny...and ya know after watching some of these play calls the past couple weeks I can't blame Head Coach Ego.
A couple play calls come to mind right off the bat.
Ravens inside the 5 yard line down by less than a TD to S.D. and they called an inside pitch/shovel pass to the slot receiver in which he proceeded to fumble the ball and the Ravens did not score...you never see this call that deep inside the red zone....sending a WR who is not use to running the ball into the teeth of a defense that is playing a goal line defense.
The game vs Denver , Mike Anderson was running the ball very well, and the Ravens line seemed to have Denver D on its heels RUNNING the ball...Instead of continuing to run, they decide to throw deep twice from mid field, very low percentage calls....and this was in the crucial stage of the game, score tied ....Ravens forced to punt, punt shanked and Denever scored.
3rd play right before the half of the Denver game, the Ravens are in FG range right before the half, score tied, and they throw a jump ball into the corner with Champ Bailey as the defender, instead of taking the easy 3 points in a tight low scoring game...
I realize some of this is on McNair but cmon , why even put him in that spot when you are guaranteed points?
Now we will see Brian Billick make every excuse in the book when he doesn't do any better, stay tuned.
