Actually they keep calling my house...They're trying to collect on a on behalf of Paypal...They say I owe 71 dollars...It's bs...I've told them not to call back...yet they keep calling...Are they allowed to call after I've told them not to call back? The name of the company is IC Systems... I've heard they can be sued for calling back after they've been notified not to call again...Does anyone know about this?[/SIZE]

You have 30 days

Send them in writing a short note telling them that you do not acknowledge this charge as valid and do not recognize Paypal as a creditor. Tell them to stop sending letters and calling you. They will then legally have to stop, or you could in fact sue them.

No, must be a letter in writting. If you read the small print (usually on back of their "claim"), it should state something to the effect that if you dispute the validity of the claim you have 30 days to respond in writting and they must legally stop harrasing you. Just do it, and your troubles will most liekly be over. The collection agency probably bought this obligation (be it valid or not) for a fraction of the actual amount due. They know that by threatening and harrasing, some will pay the full amount due; others, that are smarter, will do as we stated. the collection agency only needs to collect on a fraction of these to stay profitable. for an amount this small, they will not expend the resource to take further action to collect.

Write the short letter and your troubles should be over.

They will inform all three of the credit reporting agencies. This is their only weapon to get paid.

Empty threats fall on deaf ears.

" If you dont pay we will report you ", is their only chance of getting paid. If they never report, word will evebtually get out and their idle threats exposed.

Thats not tru except that its only for $70 bucks and not worth the agency using an attorny. I represent several collection agencies and they get paid by me getting a judgement and taking it out of their bank accounts. I don't represent IC Systems or I'd lose your file, hahaha...best of luck

Buy a fax machine and connect it up everytime you see their number. That annoying noise the fax machine makes will end your calls quick.

Pig: Only way you'll get an answer to that is to consult a lawyer, which will cost more than the $79 or whatever they're chasing, just for an opinion.

TBH I'd just pay the $71 to get them off my back.
