I hope to God the Mets win, the cards are horrible with runners in scoring position. If they are lucky enough to win this game then it is going to be one boring series watching the cards hit into one double play after another. How do you strand another man at second with no outs???

I give up on this game, no way is it going to go over, good call with all of you that picked the other under, I really saw this going a different way. Because I am a fan of sports I hope the mets win because i can not stand to watch the cards pathetic baseball anymore

Yeah it's pretty much over, unless a miracle happens. Didn't know Perez would look like a young Randy Johnson tonight....oh well!!!! Anything can happen, but the only chance now is a 4-4 ball game.

I agree, 4 innings to go and 7 runs need for a push, that would actually require not only men getting on base but then the most important part hits to score them

I also was hoping for at least a 5-4 game when we take a quick glance at Jeff Suppan vs Oliver Perez. This game has been a surprise, really. Like borat says, only chance now is if both Cards and Mets get 3 runs each for a guaranteed push of the 9th run. I'm still holding out on a slim hope that a 4-4 game is still possible...

I am not sure why, but I had the opposite reaction because it's not like football where QB's and the offense touches the ball a lot in the rain that "slows" down many Totals. Pitchers are the only one who generally touch the baseball frequently and the rain seems to become another enemy for the pitchers but I don't have stats to back my thinking up, though.

Oh BLAST, unbelievable catch over the fence, noooo....
