In the 9th they were -180 to win the WS over the Cardinals. Now that the game is over they are -240. Thoughts? Is it that much of a sure thing?

I don't see them winning more then 1 game. Tigers easily... Almost lost to the mets with names like Heilman, Maine and Perez. Now they face the Tiger's studs.I'd be suprised to see the cards score 10 runs in the series

A big number.....but the Tigers roll 'em. I'm gonna wait and hope it goes down a little, but if it doesn't....I'm still unloading on Detroit!

the only way they can win this series is if the Tigers bats go cold because st. louis cant score enough

i will be betting unders in the WS, and will not be hedging my Tigers to win WS +1356 bet

I wouldn't either if I held that bet. That is a nice number to see. I'm with you on betting unders. I think more unders will hit than overs.

I feel like the Cardinals are destin to win the WS after this. No one gave either the Cards or the Tigers a chance. I think this could go 7 games. I have thought about it and I realize the Cardinals have been winning because they have experience. The Cardinals have been a team for ever they have pretty much had the same players for a while.

Food for thought... (I nabbed the Tigers already at -215, FYI, nothing to do with this article that I just finally saw on www.covers.com, article written on Wednesday, 18th)

"``In a four-out-of-seven series, they might go cold and somebody might get hot,`` Mets manager Willie Randolph said. ``You can look at it just on the surface, you might think that, yeah, but it doesn`t always play out that way.``

Only thing is, since 1991 it has.

The 1991 Minnesota Twins, 2001 Arizona Diamondbacks, 2002 Anaheim Angels and 2005 Chicago White Sox all entered the World Series with five days off and went on to win, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. The 1995 Atlanta Braves and 1996 New York Yankees had six-day breaks - matching what Detroit has - and won the title.

Seven of the nine teams in baseball history to start the Series with five days off went on to win. The only losers were the 1988 Oakland Athletics (to the Los Angeles Dodgers) and the 1990 A`s (to Cincinnati).

Both were managed by La Russa, whose A`s had five days off before beating San Francisco in the 1989 Series - which was interrupted for 11 days following Game 2 because of an earthquake."

In any case, I'm still figuring Tigers.... and am jealous to those who were lucky to nab Tigers at 100-1 (+10000) back in April!!

Heck, someone at 2+2 forum in the last few weeks did mention that he got the Tigers at 100-1 then later on, saw it change upwards to 800-1. He decided to max the $500 bet and then even re-confirmed with the book about that 800-1 price (+80000). They replied that they would honor that +80000 price. If they indeed do pay him full, he wins $400K! Holy smokes!

LaRussa is going to have a tough time setting his rotation.

Talk is he will either go with Weaver in game1 on three days rest...

Or will add Marquis and start him in game 1 and Weaver in Game 2...

Suppan would start game 4...

Carpenter in Gm 3.

The Cards are in the Series...but their pitching does not setup ideally at all.

I couldn't believe the line! I just checked it this morning. I thought it might be -135 to -160. How do 2 teams make it to the pinnacle of baseball, and one becomes a 2:1 dog, like it's the Yankees playing the Devil Rays?

Well

Judging by the way these two teams played this year....I would stay clear of betting who is going to win this series and the world series. I would just maybe, put some money on the tigers to win the first game....and MAYBE play the over in the 2nd and 3rd game.

Even doing THAT is probably too risky. Considering that it seems incredibly luring, and too easy to just play the tigers to win it all....ESPECIALLY since the cards weren't really shit at all this year, but managed to make it to the playoffs, and the tigers wupped ass consistently this year....it just seems too good. Being an experienced gambler in sports betting, I would just steer from wagering on this series altogether, and just close up shop on mlb untill next year (ofcourse I'm gonna watch the games!).

But hey, that's my opinion, and good luck to you benny shoe!

:thumbsup2:
