You were right and I was wrong. You posted a banner proclamation and I said something like "when people post banner/headline proclamations it nearly always means problems with the side they are predicting." I have a few ideas why that occurs I need to write up for the boards one day. So, you had two big bold statement threads and I said that due to those, I believe the Mets would win the series.

While I believe my reasons are still valid as to why banner/bold proclamations many times indicates ultimate failure for the prediction, you made a bold call and you won.

Congratulations to your St. Louis Cardinals who in August and September of 2005 and August and September of 2006 have cost me more than any other three teams in baseball combined....sorry, I got off track there....

Where was I? Oh yes!! Congratulations!!

You were right, Kojak, and I was o' so wrong.

Good luck.

Tulsa,
It was a lot of fun. I can tell you that though I am no expert on betting bases, one thing I do know is that I know my Cards.

04....Proclaimed Cards would win NLCS. Called locks on Game 6 and 7.Cards won though made no predictions on winning WS.

05....In Game 5 of NlCS with Cards about to be eliminated, called Cards a lock to win. Cards won.

06....Predicted Cards to beat Mets and AL team (Tigers) and win WS. One part of prediction down, one to go.

All I can say is that Cards have a ton of heart. They will give Tigers all they can handle. I told everybody injuries played a big role for Cards in regular season but it was a blessing in disguise as they were tested to the very end. This was important that they were. Whole world is on Tigers and come next weekend, they will wish they were not!

You have no need to apologize but it is accepted. BOL my friend.

im also on the cards as well, kojak, excellent value here with the cards. to much is said about the cards being tired and have no pitching etc. heart and adrenaline can go a long way imo. just a week ago the tigers were even money to beat the athletics, and now they are -220??? ill take my chances with the cards.

Looking at Game 1, it looks like it is possible Marquis might pitch. I am not a fan of Jason Marquis. This guy seems to pout at any sign of adversity. But one thing that intrigues me if he does start is that he is a fa after the season. He has not shown much leading into FA. It would not shock me if he pitches the game of his life as contract status for next year depends on it. Cards win in 7! Same format as NLCS!

Tigers win Game 1
Cards win Game 2
Cards win Game 3
Cards Win Game 4
Tigers win Game 5
Tigers win Game 6
Cards win Game 7

Congrats Kojak.

I was at Shea last night and seeing Suppan up close was impressive. He had great command, threw every pitch in his repertoire for strikes and kept the ball down consistently. The Mets didn't have any good at bats against him. When Chavez made "the catch" I really thought we had a shot but it wasn't meant to be.

Now kick Detroit's ass.

congrats kojak. you are playing with house $$$ now so you can't lose. cards haven't been the better squad yet and it hasn't mattered. they are definitely outmanned here. I say Tigers in 5. they say as bettors not to let our hearts get in the way of our heads. I'd say for u this isn't the case.

Kojack,

How bout them Cards!!!! I like them to split in Detroit for the first two games as well. They are no more tired than if they were playing regular season schedule and the Tigers have been sitting around for a while reading all the press about how they are going to win in 4, so they could be a little flat.

Also nice to see two Yankee rejects pitching in the Fall Classic tomorrow night!

Go Cards, let's bring home a winner!!!
