Guys I'm on the run of my life in college and The NFL. We always talk about what to do when you are on a losing streak, but what do you do when you are on a winning streak?? I guess what I'm trying to say is I know I am going to start tanking real soon. It always happens. No one stay hot forever. I'm actually preparing myself for a losing run. Am I wrong to think this way??

Please post all your plays this weekend and bet them for $10 each, that way we can pound the opposite side.

NO

This is precisely what any smart handicapper/gambler should be doing................and unfortunately, many do not.

Hope for the best and prepare for the worst. That is all you can do. Continue what you have been doing and there is no reason you can't continue on your hot streak for another couple of weeks.

Fish it's not the best way to go about it. It's best to just be indifferent to the results, but obviously not everyone can do that. Preparing yourself for a losing run means you are still invested emotionally and you want to limit the effect it has on you.

In a way understand what your saying.

Please remember, WELL OVER 90% OF INDIVIDUALS DO NOT WIN MONEY by WAGERING ON SPORTS.

These individuals for certain need to know how to handle their losing streaks and their overall losing in general.

I also happen to believe that longterm proven winners must do the same............however, most longterm proven winners DO KNOW HOW TO HANDLE A BAD RUN..............AND THAT IS ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS THEY ARE LONGTERM WINNERS.

Well handling losing streaks is a big part of dicipline, which is a big part of being a successful bettor. Being able to deal with losing runs is better than not being able to, but it's always better to just not care at all. Much easier said than done though ;)

Betting for or against this team is my bread and butter.

Will make a note to pay more attention to this fact in the future.

That's the truth. So much bs floating around about momentum and streaks and shit like that.

I think lowering your units or amount per unit is the only answer if you really sense this coming and we have all had these inklings.

If you don't bet the plays you like and they are winning you'll be kicking yourself in the ass or if you (I know this sounds stupid) start fading yourself and losing you'll really start kicking yourself in the ass. Good luck whatever you do but nobody stays on fire for too long

Nice avatar. I see that arse everywhere and I probally always will. And it'll never be too much.

Back to the thread, lowering betsize is only a good thing if you have lost confidence, and if you have lost confidence that you're even a winner then it is time to take a break.

and we have all had these inklings.

For some it might just be good intuition (seriously who knows), but for most it's either random or selective memory. Remember that losing streaks are also more likely than winning streaks for most bettors, so if at any point they feel like they're going to lose it actually is more likely ;)
