I just don't see how this bill can survive in the longterm, as big as internet gaming has become in the U.S there is bound to be huge backlash when the regulations are actually put in place and remember, Bush will not be the president for long, It sounds like one of those bills that was attached to a security bill in an election year to try and get votes, and once the voting comes and goes I seriously do not see them trying to enforce such an uneforceable law to the max, their will be plenty of loopholes, Everyone thinks 9 months from now internet gambling will be vanished, there is no chance of that, it's too big an industry and has too maay customers.

You are absolutely correct. Too much money, too many loopholes and too many ways around the regulations if they ever go into effect.

Good point, and this is the most likely way that they would *not* go into effect. It's fairly common that laws are passed and never implemented due to a failure to set up a workable regulatory framework for them. With the hesitancy of the banking industry to become de facto law enforcement officers, and Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke echoing these concerns there's a decent chance that it'll get stalled at the implementation phase. We can hope...
