Turn the sound down on the TV watching football and turn up the sound on various NHL games on the radio via nhl.com

Great action nightly!

Really get a great feel for the NHL by doing this and learn a lot about various teams by listening to various teams home broadcasters.

Just completed listening to BUFFALO win again...........as they hang on and defeat CAR 5-4.

Absolutely adore the Buffalo announcer. And Afinogenov, because I have him in a pool.

Without digital cable (getting it in a month or so), it'd be a real hassle following games, but NHL steps up and offers free radio via their website. Classy.

Screw that Fish, go find an extra scalp and buy the TV package! The rest of the sports I get plenty of on regular TV and when there is a rare game I really want to see I'll go out and find it in a book or bar. Hockey though I can watch any night of the week whether I've got money on it or not.

Baltimore Clippers , rival Hershey Bears (Yankees of AHL)

Hockey in person is so much more appealing than TV.

Very true, but the shithead who runs the NHL has refused to allow a team to consider coming here. Not to mention the price of the package covers the cost of just a few games of tickets.

LAS VEGAS Thunder IHL baby!!!

The IHL and Thunder are gone, hehe. Fish you would love the new team, the Wranglers. They play hard-nosed hockey and were damn good last year, just lost a tough series to an even better team.

Still the way this team is getting treated by the media makes it clear why minor league sports are hard to use to judge pro sports potential. No radio station wants to carry the games and even if they made it to the league finals there would be no TV coverage, even for road games. How can you get fans excited about a team when they have never heard or seen a game?

I think if you turn down the sound on the TV and listen to the radio for ANY sport it's better (as long as you're watching TV). Really, you should try this.

But the ONLY sport worth listening to on the radio--and NOT watching TV--is baseball.

The rest suck.

In fact, sometimes I think baseball's SUPERIOR on the radio.

I enjoy checking the scores at the end of the day.

Baseball might be tolerable with the volume off, Led Zepelin
on and a simultaneous BJ.

I'd also prescribe it for insomniacs.

But to each their own.

Whatever turns you on & makes $$$.

Ok, how about volume off, TV on (don't need the Led Zep as much as I love them) AND a bj?

That works for me.
