At 8:30 eastern Pride holds it's first MMA show in the US. It probably has the top 185'er, 205, and HW in all MMA - plus, there will be other great fighters like Baroni, Barnett and a freak show in Hunt v. Buterbean - it's 40 bucks and you'll be a fan forever.

Hunt didn't get his visa so he won't be fighting. There put in someone else as his replacement and it is going to be a regular MMA fight.

Too bad Nevada doesn't allow soccer kicks or stomps.

Pride has the best heavyweight without a doubt. 205 is VERY debateable though as is 185. This card is kinda crap for a pride card to be honest.

I'd put up Wanderlei Silva and Shogun against anyone in the UFC.

UFC's talent is so shallow, you keep seeing rematches over and over again. UFC is turning into boxing. Bunch of weak undercards and just a good main event. I'll still watch it but it is getting to be dissapointing to watch the UFC. All the matches are people from The Ultimate Fighter because that is the only people most fans recognize.

Rumor has it that Pride has offered to send Wanderlei, Fedor and CroCop over to fight anyone UFC wants and Dana White keeps turning it down or making up some excuse.

Pride vs UFC champs in each division would be a huge PPV event. Pride would dominate. UFC is going to shit.

I can guarantee you that no one is beating Hughes at 170 from Pride and Chuck is about as good as anyone at 205.

Actually, White has come straight out and said that Pride is very hard to negotiate with which is believable. As for Shogun and Silva, Lidell would have a great shot against both of them. I'd make him a good sized favorite over Shogun (because of styles), Silva would have the better chance of beating Lidell. Silva has quicker hands but he is kind of wild and sloppy. That gives a counterpuncher like Lidell the chances he wants. Pride is a MUCH deeper organization but the top guys in the UFC can compete with the top pride guys, well except for heavyweight.

Not true at all. There is no way Pride would send over their best. There is no way that Dana would accept anyone other than Wanderlei because Chuck could beat him but Crocop and Fedor would dominate everyone. It hasn't been offered, although it wouldn't be accepted. Talks broke down with both sides on Wanderlei/Chuck. Dane blames it on Pride but who knows...

Sherk would have a great shot at anyone as well. Pride has very little smaller fighters. Their HW division in insane and their LHW is very good but nothing beyond that really. I think Sherk would be far too strong for Gomi and would just hold him down and GNP.

They are hard to negotiate with because their fighters demand alot more money than UFC is willing to pay.

Rich Franklin was paid $20k last ppv for his championship fight. Fedor is getting $100k tonight.

UFC pays their undercard fighters from $2k to around $10k.

There was also an article with the president of Pride/DSE and he said he would pay both fighters salaray if UFC wanted to put someone up against CroCop or Fedor and UFC never responded.

I'll try to find the article.

With bonus and a precentage of revenue Fedor is supposed to make about a million if he beats Coleman - the only thing that sucks about UFC is the heavyweights - other than that they have guys that could be top five or higher in the other classes - Baroni was basically kicked out of the UFC for losing.

Does anyone know if fat ass Bean is fighting? If so, will it be shown as part of the PPV? thanks

Wasn't the one I was looking for but here is another snippet.

From Graciemag.com
Sakakibara: 'Sylvia fled from Fedor'
'If they'd fight 100 times, Fedor would win everyone of them'

The war of words between UFC's Dana White and Pride's Nobuyuki Sakakibara continues. The last round was fired by the Japanese director. Sakakibara said during a interview that UFC fighters are afraid of facing Pride athletes. To prove that, he revealed that he tried to book a fight between Tim Sylvia and Fedor Emelianenko for the upcoming Pride USA. "Tim Sylvia ran away and if think it over you realize that makes a lot of sense, once if they'd fight 100 times ,Fedor would win everyone of them," provoked Sakakibara.

O'Haire has some MMA experience against nobodies and was destroyed in his only K1 appearance...the Hunt/Bean fight was originally going to be an MMA fight, but the Nevada Athletic Commission wouldn't sanction it as such fearing that Bean would get his ass kicked too bad. They're right, of course, since Hunt has decision victories over Mirko and Wanderlei Silva, two guys *well* out of Butterbean's league. Hunt had visa problems and couldn't get into the country (maybe the Feds found out he had a Pinnacle account or something) so it may have worked out for the better getting a former pro wrestler to participate in Butterbean's freak show...

I *think* tonight's O'Haire/Bean fight is under boxing rules, in which case the blubbery one should win. Not that anyone cares...

If you get a chance, look on YouTube and you can find a video of Bean getting submitted by "Punk" Minowa at the last PRIDE Bushido event...

Sylvia would not lose all 100 - he is a good striker and would beat Fedor by KO 1 out of 99.

I'd love to see 'em fight now--after the way Mirko walked through the competition at the recent Open Weight Grand Prix it would be a hell of a contest...
