......from a talent standpoint.

Very similar...................this guy is going to be fantastic at the next level.

The best WR currently in CFB in my opinion.

Not only from a talent standpoint, but from a physical standpoint as well. A true physical specimen. I think he wears #81 as well. I was thinking the same thing a few weeks ago while watching Tech on the JP.

If you were to walk around Clemson today though, not a person around is worried. Orange colored glasses you could say.

Much faster(4.38) and can jump higher(42" vert) plus better team attitude. Owens has great work ethic. Top 5 pick in April.

I stand corrected.

Watching ESPN, I wonder how long the people out on Bowman Field can keep it up. People were going out there last night as the floats started moving out for Tigerrama to claim their turf. LONG day.

I'm telling you, put another 10 lbs of muscle on him, and he is practically a clone.

Without the mental issues too. GT alum, lifelong fan, and season ticket holder here. Will be leaving for Death Valley in an hour. Calvin is as good a student-athlete as any school could want. As much as I'm enjoying his college career and hope against hope that it lasts one more season, I can't wait to see what he can accomplish at the highest level.

I look for the GT defense to be the story tonight though. The front 7 is verrry underrated and will need to show up big tonight against the Clemson running game. Should be a great game as usual. 7 of the last 8 have been decided in the last 2 minutes.

Owens wasn't highly regarded coming out of school though. No doubt he goes top 5 if he stays healthy and comes out after this year.

excuse my ignorance but was TO a prima donna at school too?

He might have been, but how many of us watch any games played by UT-Chatanooga? He scored 15 TDs in 4 years, not exactly the stuff which would get you to be a prima donna.

You're probably a good guy to ask about this--my dad, btw, is also a GT alum(he majored in textile engineering). Right after I was born I was taken to some dingy student apartment so close to the Varsity that I could smell the grease. That might explain why I turned out the way I did... ; )

Anyway, I've been big on Tech's defense all year and that put me on Tech plus the points and the UNDER against Clemson. Things were looking good until the 4th quarter, where I honestly can't recall seeing that big of a mental meltdown by an otherwise solid defense in many years of watching college football. Have they shown any other lapses like this this season? I've only watched a few of their games, so I was wondering from a more knowledable GT perspective if they've shown any tendencies like this before tonight...

Oh, and Clemson's secondary--which hasn't looked impressive this year--full on teabagged Calvin Johnson tonight holding him without a catch for the first time in his college career. James Johnson, on the other hand, caught Tech's only TD pass--a positively sick grab of a ball that bounced off a Clemson defender's helmet...

Cool - I was a TE major also. I went back to school and got an MBA and now work as an accountant at a textile company.

No, this defense has not shown this tendency this season. This game reminded me of our defense under O'Leary actually. There was a game in ATL where we knew Woody Dantzler was going to run almost every play, but we couldn't stop him. Tackling was horrible last night, but I don't think the meltdown in the 4th Q was so much mental as it was physical. Clemson won the line of scrimmage battle on both sides of the ball, and it only got worse as the game went on. Reggie never had time to look for Calvin or anybody, and he was gimpy and couldn't run effectively. And their OL was just opening huge holes since they outweighed our DL by probably 50 pounds each.

:Sad Face:
