I have ALWAYS remembered every small date in my life. Though we don't really celebrate it I was STUNNED to see a card right next to my keyboard this morning.

Never heard a word all week, ANYWHERE (radio, signs on the road).

Because for the other 95% of the country, Sweetest Day doesn't mean a thing...

Only EVERY store has big displays. Pull yourselves away from the computer and make good on this holiday.

Bradlee - who is that in your avatar?

Don't mean to break up the celebration of Sweetest Day (sounds alot like Festivus to me)

Someone please fill me in on wtf this is?

basically valentines day in October. Sweetest day is a saturday holiday (3rd I think) in October where you buy/spend on significant other. Pretty popular here in Michigan. Known about it most of my adult life but don't remember much about it as a kid. I am 35. But the old man never did this kind of stuff for my mom.

yes but explain that to the women.

You know a bunch of them compare/share stories on what they got/did on this day and it looks weak for your girl to tell her mom or friends that we don't celebrate it because it is a hallmark holiday. Makes you look cheap and uncaring to them.

I learned a long time ago a $3.00 card can go a long way and this is with EVERY girl I have been with.

Never heard of it, probably just another bogus holiday to make money.

Every day should be treated the same.

Never ever even remotely heard of this 'sweetest day'... wow. In all honesty, I thought you were talking about the fact that we have: GREAT NCAA Football and a WORLD SERIES GAME and some hockey tossed in as well!!!! There is golf and tennis (I think tennis)

So, this is one of the sweetest days in the year for me.

Journey, every day the same? yuck.

You are one cynical fellow, journey!

this so SURPRISING. I didn't know this was such a REGIONAL holiday. In fact I don't think I know one person who doesn't know about this day.
