I really thought we were at a disadvantage tonight in Game 1. Wow! What a shock! I don't know about you other Cards fans but I am starting to smell it! I am going to go out on a line and say this series never makes it back to Detroit. I predict Cards to win Game 2 with Weaver outpitching Rogers and take 2 of 3 in STL. St. Louis is going to win in 5 games. Call it a hunch and I would not be surprised if we sweep this series. Nobody in Detroit's lineup scares me like Beltran,Delgado,or Wright, and Reyes. Team looks relaxed and confident. Reyes performance tonight was a big plus. Enjoy it Cards fans, get ready for tomorrow. For the record, I am not cocky but I am very confident the trophy is coming back to STL. Enjoy the ride this week!

it seems as though the cards play very well as underdogs. everyone and i pretty much mean everyone didnt give them a chance. they are playing with house money, free and easy going with no pressure. it make a big difference. i agree about game 2, rogers cant keep pitching these masterpieces. once again all the pressure is on the tigers, and the cards will just go out and play the game, and have fun.

LOL I actually forgot to take the Tigers today. I saw an opportunity to make money today on MLB Live when the Tigers scored in the first inning. The line was Cards +250 so I threw 2 units...Glad it cashed.Later on I took the Tigers +650 when they were down 4-1 thinking they still had a shot....

A great win in a game I was just hoping ws close late Kojak. I do agree that after sweating thru the Mets lineup for 7 games this lineup isn't as scary. They have 8 solid hitters but there's no Beltran, Delgad, Wright in there. STL's weakness is the long ball and i feel good about making DET's lineup come up with consecutive hits with this defense and pitching staff. What still scares me of course is DET having LHP starters in 4 games if necc. although I was very excited to see Rolen and Edmonds have big nights, it was easy to call a DET sweep but now all the experts can see STL has earned the right to be there and will make noise, GO REDBIRDS!!!!!!!!!!

Good start for the Redbirds. They will need to keep the pedal down. Spezio gets a start tonight as he hits Rogers very well. Rolen's shoulder looks great as he turned on an inside fastball and parked it.

It's looking good for the Gateway Archtown!!!

Kojak, I enjoy your posts. See you Tuesday, I'll be the guy in RED!:thumbsup2:

Tonights game is much more important to the Tigers than for the Cards.

That said I just can't see the gap as wide as the oddsmakers have it. Edmonds and Rolen are hitting again so even if they walk Pujols the Cardinals can still score runs.

Cardinals ML and RL tonight, this game should be closer than last night.

Good Luck:toast:

Rolen and Edmonds are hitting again?When..... did they start hitting? One game doesn't justify the series.Cards will lose tonight and the series.

hard to say the redbirds really "deserve" to be there, as the mets outplayed them pretty bad in 5 of the first 6 games of the series and they benefitted huge from the umpiring, but they played a great game 1. gl.
