The Cards didn't lose this game 'cause of Jeff Weaver.

Don't tell whormoan that...he bases players careers and teams seasons on 5-10 minutes of play.

1 minute CJ, remember ND only needed 1 minute to prove the Pac 10 sucks.

Giving up 3 er in 5-6 innings is not a bad start imo. I think he has pitched better but had rough 1st inning. If anything he was on ropes twice and pitched outstanding to get out of those innings. I don't think Weaver can be classified anymore as a poor pitcher. He has earned his stripes no matter what happens in next start.

LaRussa is to blame here for starting Encarnacion (RF) and Wilson (LF).

Never see Jose dive for balls but he sure is good at pulling-up two steps from where they hit the ground or reaching over an infielder's glove to grab an easy fly that's not his...and LaRussa bats this easy out clean-up in gm 7 in NY?

And how about that triple hit by Guillen to LF Wilson...Wilson wasn't even in the same neighborhood when it hit the wall because he overran it...the ball hit the wall behind the line he ran in...what a butch-job! And the announcers simply say "he couldn't get it." And how about that ball of Jimmy's he grabbed as he ran him over in NY?

Not seeing anything defensively or offensively from either Encarnacion or Wilson...need to play Taguchi in LEFT, Spiezio in RIGHT and DH Ducan, while Eckstein has to get on...1 (HBP) for 9 reaching base for the Card's lead-off hitter doesn't cut-it.
