In the NFL, has the balance of power shifted over to the NFC?

AFC has been dominant vs NFC for quite sometime now but it looks to me that times are changing. AFC is the conference that looks watered down with more quality and deeper conference being the NFC.

Top AFC TEams: Patriots,Broncos,Colts,Chargers,Steelers,Jaguars,Ravens,Bengals

Their performance has been subpar vs NFC: Broncos lost to Rams, Steelers to Falcons,Jags to Redskins,Bengals to TB.

Those 4 teams are not even in Top 3 in NFC.

Top NFC teams: Bears,Vikings,Seattle,ST.Louis,Carolina,New Orleans,Atlanta,Philly,NY Giants, and maybe Cowboys.

Even the worst teams in NFC like Packers,Redskins,Tampa Bay,Lions have beat AFC teams.

Would like to hear others thoughts on if balance is changing or has already happened.

I still take the playoff teams the afc presents over the NFC although the gap is certainly closing.

AFC is still slightly better but the margin is closing fast.

Colts, Denver, New England, S.D. and Cincy are a little better than-

NYG, Minny, Chi, Seattle and Carolina

This season just might be the best balanced ever.

It's actually great that the two conferences are so balanced this year. I dont think it swung completely over to the NFC but with the addition of New Orleans and St Louis in the mix, it just appears that it is swinging over to the NFC.
I agree with Jman, its a great balance between the AFC and NFC.

yes don't forget about the rams, i believe they are a playoff team, but i think the saints will fade. I'm more of a NFC fan and i like to see this, but i'd have to agree i'd take the AFC playoff teams vs the NFC. Lets see a 18-0 vs 18-0 Chi INdy matchup in feb. then i'd be happy

AFC has the better defenses and running games at the top of the list, makes them a little better. Closer than recent years though. No one believes in the Colts, should be interesting to see if this is finally their year.

Just off the top of my head I think all those games were played on the road, also early in the year. I believe it is more balanced than in previous years.

I like your Vikes this week against my Pats.Sandwich game for Pats
2nd away game in a row for Pats.Pats played division game against Bills....Pats have the Colts at home on Sunday nite the next week..
HOWEVER...Tom Terrific has never ever, ever lost a dome game!
...and he is 19-1 on turf...are they fucking amazin or what?
..also Bills beat Vikes..Pats have beated Bills twice..once with one Seymour tied behind their back.
I still like Vikes.

JMAN...I think the Vikes are improved and play a grittier game and its Mon nite and the Pats playing an interconf game on the road with the Colts on the horizon. I just think its a bump in the road in the Pats schedule.

I was seriously looking at NE @ here less than 3..I will take a longer look now....those stats are hard to overlook, plus I'm not sold on Minnesota...

The period from 85 to 96 where the NFC was so much better than the
AFC was just pure dominance. A period like that will never come again.
