I got game six tics from my wife's work. (It pays to marry and smart girl) I am feeling that it could be a clinching game if the Tigers take 2 of 3. That would drive the value through the roof. I want to sell them but the wife will not like that. The people that will buy the tics will be sitting next to her boss. LOL But I might be able to get 2500 for both of them.

thoughts?????

Selling a gift doesn't really seem like a nice thing to do. Especially if the "gifter" is going to know that you sold them.

TRS, if you are a Tigers fan I have no idea how you would even consider such a thing!

But if you could really use the 2500$ , then go ahead. But you have no idea when the Tigers are going back.

why not just go.

especially if its a possible clincher to win the first world series in 22 years.

would be a good time.

besides, if you sold them, the boss would know since he will be there and possibly discipline your wife for it maybe.

your wife wears the pants in the family and will not allow you to sell the tickets anyway so stfu and go enjoy the festivities.

id sell in a heartbeat IF they people who gave werent sitting right next to you...thats the problem....your almost handcuffed to go bc her boss or whatever will be there...

talk about coming off looking like a dirtbag...he gives her 2 tickets and you sell them...it wont look pretty...

now if they werent sitting next to you...sell them take the 2/3K...and go out with your friends to a great bar...get a nice big table and have a blast and still wake up the next day with a couple k in your pocket...

fwiw, i agree this series will get to 6games thus making those tickets worth a small fortune...

....i know when the redsox won it a few years ago, i put everyone i know in the lottery trying to win tickets with the full intention of selling them if i won..hell 2tickets to 1 game with 1 other person...fu-k id rather hang out with all my friends at jillians and their 500 tv's right across the street from fenway and have a great time together...and make out like a bandit...

I am sure you are 100% kidding but just in case

What would you do if you gave a friend/employee tickets as a gift to a once in a lifetime event and they sold them?

Personally I would either fire your wife or at best lose all respect for both of you.

Don't you think selling the tickets crossed her bosses mind? Seems to me that her boss must think very highly of both of you to offer them up.

Now if she works a a waitress and the boss is a sleazy prick who you want to pummle, by all means get as much $ as possible.

I would even go one step farther and give $200 cash to the people who buy the tickets to dump a beer on her bosses head...may as well

It is entirely possible that her boss also sells his tickets. No one will know. Go spend that 2500 bucks on a nice vacation.

WOW Didn't think I would have to defend my honor here. We are all gamblers are we not ?
We are always looking for an angle on things. We are always looking for +ev, right? The only thing that would stop me from selling the tics is if I knew the wife's boss was there. 2-3000 is a good score for just some damn tickets. I owe it to myself to cash in when the timing is right. You guys wouldn't do it? If the boss was not going to be there would you do it?

Levi we see thing the same way most of the time. But on this one The gift is here are 2 tics please enjoy them. LOL I will enjoy 3,000 for alot longer than that game would last. My wife works very hard she puts in 10 hrs a day easily. She has been a dedicated employee for 15 yrs for this company. SHe is an escrow manager at a title company and has earned everything she gets.

Go.

Being a season ticket holder I was able to get the whole playoffs for face.

I had the same dilemma seeing standing room tickets going $300-$500.

My test was how would the story go in 20 years. Would I rather tell people about being at the World Series or how I made a few dimes selling the tickets. A couple $1000 is not going to change your life I assume, so why miss seeing a great World Series matchup.

If you're a real gambler your attitude has to be cash before honor. Pray that the Tigers start scoring some runs this series and then sell, sell, sell.

I'd sell if the tix were legitimately mine ( like season tickets) in this circumstance selling could cost you a lot more... later !

You don't scalp gifts, period. End of story. Morally, very poor taste, even if you knew the boss would not be there.
