Both these teams seem to have forgotten how to score points...it seems like a long time ago now, players like Warrick Dunn , Charlie Ward, William Floyd and Tamarick Vanover were running over the opposition.

FSU hasn't had a decent QB since before Chris 'the Fix' Rix :icon_conf

Miami is no better really ...

What is going on down there in the sunshine state? Are these programs that much on the decline or do the coaches need to move on, they must still be getting plenty of the top players in that hotbed.

A couple of things. Seems out of state programs have made Florida recruiting an even bigger priority so its tougher to keep the boys at home. Secondly I think all the new D-I programs playing now around the state are making things a little rougher as well. Not that all the players going to Central Florida or Florida Atlantic might be desired by FSU, but it still creates a cascading effect of talent being drained out bit by bit.

Seems almost impossible for a program like the Seminoles have built to struggle so badly to get a really top QB in that program and to get him to perform!

FSU has always been a defense first kind of team, the past several years though the offense just seems to be getting worse by the season...

The balance of power in college football has definitley left the big three down there looking like regular teams....those automatic top ten finishes are all over with.

these teams have shit head coaches.

not only that, they let position coaches manage practices and ofensive and defensive coordinators call games.

basically they do shit and should be shown the door.

Very true about Bobby.....Mickey has handled the defense for years and for the most part does a very good job. However, Jeff Bowden is the problem at FSU. The man comes out with terrible game plans most weeks and does not know how to make adjustments. The talent is there, FSU still brings in enough talent to be in the Top 5 recruiting every year. Coaching is the problem, and if Bobby won't fire Jeff, then he should be fired.

Very true...Bowden has built a system that has been in place for over 25 years and his asst coaches do everything...I would think he's probably the least involved in game head coach in football today...probably time to change that or retire....his son is taking serious heat too.

Bowden is scared he will die right after he retires, that's why he stays.
It's not all about coaching football to him if he can put productive people into the world.

Florida is not what Florida once was though, they're not close to winning a national championship...but yeah they have been top ten material.

NO! NO! NO! I DON'T ever want Bobby-Jimmy Swaggert- Blowden to retire! When he dies, F$U should freeze him and cart him to the sidelines on gamedays. Promote Jeffie Blowden to Head Coach for LIFE! That would be the prudent thing to do. LT:103631605 :puppy: :toast:  :lolBIG: :thumbsup2: :nohead: :nohead:

Why this website now?
To wit:
*</B>The head coach is a mere "CEO" now and not an active coach. We cannot even remember the last time Bobby actually coached a game.
*Quote from USA-TODAY (08/25/2006):
"18 — Florida State defeats in the 14 seasons from 1987-2000
20 — Florida State defeats in the past five seasons"
(this coincides with Jeff Bowden as Offensive Coordinator!)

*A poor, "high school" offensive scheme since the departure of Mark Richt.
*The hiring of a son, though the State of Florida expressly forbids nepotism, but a loophole created by the Administration that Jeff Bowden does not report to the Head Coach. It is blatant and has been reported over and over in state newspapers for 5 years.
*Coach Bowden's increasing negative remarks in the press, such as: "they better be glad I want to keep this job" (Tallahassee Democrat, 11/28/05) referring to FSU fans and alumni...frankly coach, as a FSU 1982 graduate, I take offense to such Arrogance. Years ago, you would have called that a Spurrier-type of arrogant quote, certainly not from a Legend with Class. Today this is a laughable quote.
*The unwillingness of the President of the University to tell the coach it is time to either take retirement or demote his son. The unwillingness of the President of the University to do anything other than be a cheerleader---we already have those, T.K., so do your job and listen to ALL alumni, even those you disagree with! (or find another job)
*No longer can coaches blame Chris Rix, a scapegoat for four years, for offensive blunders; soon they will start blaming Weatherford, then Lee, then...as a high school QB recruit, would you want to play for coaches that throw you under the bus in the press? Every week, more coaching staff points fingers at players in the press, that is how you know a ship is slowly sinking.
*The number of embarrassing losses since 2000 is growing and staggering:

Bobby does coach, the figurehead stuff isnt really true.

here is a good piece of handicapping info NO ONE seems to know.....

since the Miami game FSU has lost 17 defensive players to injury. Its hard to look up, but I believe this is correct. they had 18 players out for the BC game, 17 of them are defensive players.

they are nearly out of linebackers and I dont mean just playing backups and freashman, I mean out, out. no more 3-4 formations which they play sometimes, they dont have 4 linebackers anymore.

starting 3 freshman in the secondary, defensive tackle spot has been beaten to death too.

this isnt their only problem and does not explain their lousy offense, but the bookies dont seem to understand this has happened. I already bet Maryland +5. line should pretty much be pickem

True Mr.Smith, but they have been pitifully inept Offensively ever since Richt went to UGa. It's a good thing FSU cashed in one last time for hardware with 27 yr old Weinke in 2000, much like LSU did with an older Mauck in 2003..and OSU with field general/game manager Krenzel in 2002.

FSU needs to steal Tommy from Clemson, he of bang-up job at Tulane in 1998.

Urban is currently dominating the state the last 1.5 years, and the allure of the SEC weekly tilts has Fla, LSU, Aub, UGa, USoCar, Tenn,etc..going into Miami and Tallahassee,etc..stealing recruits that once never left town or Sunshine state for the SEC and/or SoCal..this even in a day and age when the ACC is gaining parity via improved quality programs.

fsu injury list, players out for BC game. this has been building all year until it looks like this, some will be back some are done for the year....

*Geno Hayes LB
Brandon Warren TE
*Tony Carter CB
*Alex Boston DE-DT
Letroy Guion DT
Aaron Jones DT
Toddrick Verdell LB
Jamaal Edwards RB
Joe Thaxton LB
Emmanuel Dunbar DT
*Paul Griffin DT
Derek Nicholson LB
Anthony Kelly- I dont know
Marcus Ball LB
*Anthony Houllis S
DJ Norris DE

there are a couple more, cant find them now. the ones I starred were starters vs Miami. thats 5 gone all on defense. that will tend to hurt......especially when their replacements keep going down too. eventually you are starting 3rd teamers and playing freshman who were supposed to redshirt.

FSU actually started 2 freshmen on defense vs BC who were supposed to redshirt. Bud Thacker at DT and Dekota Watson at LB. That is where they are at on defense. Bookies had them -7 vs BC though, OK that made sense???? :icon_conf

I haven't watched but two FSU games this year, so I don't know the rhyme nor reason for their laundry list of injuries, but when an D unit is left on the field all day due to anemic O unit ..their exposure to fatigue and wear-n-tear certainly goes up.

How badly does Clemson wish they would've brought the A-Game they play currently to Boston in week one versus BC?..ACC could've had a BCS Title Gm horse in the race.

On a Bowden note, most folks will never fully grasp the greatness that is 14 straight Top 5 finishes, even if built in a then easy ACC, as FSU still had great wins in Ann Arbor, Lincoln, Baton Rouge, Gainesville,etc..and had that great Bowl streak to clinch those finishes..that streak is as impressive to me as is his two NCAA Crowns(of which his first had some funny business calls versus Dr.Tom and Nebraska in the Orange Bowl)..

Tommy Bowden should be the next FSU HC!

they arent left on the field all day and the offense isnt anemic. fsu gains about as much as they give up, but they are losing close games.

the injuries seem to just be bad luck, but they are coming all on defense
