Play the OVER, neither team has really hit all that well except for the Cards in the first game. With a wet field some of those great defensive plays that have been made will fall in for hits. The tigers seem to play better with their backs against the wall. Suppan who has been great so far lost his only postseason game at home. I see a game that looks more like game 1 than the past two. If this game gets played the pitchers may be taken out sooner than expected with a few little rain delays here and there. One team is going to have a big inning here, and I feel it is going to be the Tigers because they are going to be more disciplined today with a pitcher that can hit the corners, however I see Suppan being a little inconsistent. GL all and I hope to cash in.

If you think it is sloppy then don't bet it. I am sorry I didn't spend the time to word it a little better. I was just simply saying yes neither team has hit all that well and a lot of people are riding that to the bank which is understandable. I believe that the tigers are going to be more disciplined against Suppan and be able to hit him. Also, this field is wet, the outfielders have been making some great plays and routs to balls so far and i can see them being a step or two slower which is going to create more opportunitites.

I like this pick for two reasons:

1.) Wet field is huge. Like you said, lots of big defensive plays last night to save bloop singles or ground balls cutoff just at the edge of the infield. Players won't be able to make the cuts or get the jumps that kept these from being hits.

2.) If we do get a delay, that's huge. Very few pitchers can come out after a delay and pitch anywhere near as well as they do otherwise. It's not for certan but the radar looks pretty threatening.

Let's Cash this one, the Over "is due"

Hey B, I think you might be on too something, I'm sure Leyland told the boys to see some pitches tonight and make Suppan work out there, I can see them doing some hit and runs, stealing a few bases, they will bring it tonight. Leyland will have his team ready to go, but you have to remember that your going to need the Cards to score too, you saw what happened yesterday, the Cards were hitting and got runs, but the Tigers got shutdown. Both of these pitchers are capable of shutting down their opponents, even if one of them is off, if the other is on, it's going to be tough getting to that 8. I'm laying off the total, this is real tough game to pick a side as well, Suppan is looking like Kenny of the NL in his last two starts against the Mets. Bonderman has won two straight clinching games for his team and the Tigers know that they have to win tonight or their in big trouble. The Tigers were favoured coming in to this, are the Cards really good enough to go up 3-1???? That's going to be real tough against this Tigers team, I'll tell you that.

GKNY, that is a great writeup for the "backing off the game" camp, if there's one, heh. You made points on both sides of both the total & side. I personally have a dilemma as I had Tigers to win the WS before Game 1 so I should be hedging some on Cards (I did so yday with Carp on mound), but today, no cigar, I have a tiny play on Tigers tonight just for action, really. The total is still scaring me... stuck at 7.5 runs the last 2 days (and even tomorrow's game is already set at 7.5 runs, LOL). They all have a chance of cashing Under just becuz of the silent bats in the game. But this is a pivotal game for both teams and yep, Leyland is going to make sure his batters see more damned pitches.

Good point on both teams needing to do it to get to the total, so far its either been one or the other. I feel that both are going to make them work a little more. This is a huge game for both so they dont want to be swinging at crap. I think yesterday gave the Cards some confidence against a cold Tigers bullpen. I don't see either being as dominant as they can.

this game is gonna be a mess. A rainy night does help the over. But a cold rainy night helps the under. Hitters have a tougher time getting good hits when they're wet & freezing. Given the stakes, neither team is going to their pen early over the rain. Both pitchers are nasty.
bet lightly on this game. anything can happen in this one.

Yeah the total could go either way, as the game, when it comes down to it you have to decide how good you think this Cards team really is, are they good enough to take a strangle hold on this series at 3-1? I don't know, but the Tigers know this is the game and they need to make something happen. Will it be 2-2 going into game 5? I have to think the Tigers will get even tonight, but what do I know anyways.
