One can now view their COMMISSION CREDITS on the homepage next to their BALANCE and FREE FUNDS.

definitely a nice addition...now if they just did away with their commission credits entirely...

And how would they cover their costs?

I like Matchbook, but the commission credits system is one which would discourage losing bettors (since you have to win to get the credits.) I think it would be better if they did away with the commission credits system but you had to fulfill a certain amount of commission before you could withdraw for free.

I've been encouraging them to start doing Money Lines on their live betting like Pinnacle, but nothing yet. Give me some help on requests if you guys would like that too.

seahawks,

do you think matchbook's the only book/ exchange in the industry that is charged a fee on player's deposits?...c'mon man, they are the only book in the industry to do this and it's bush...I'm a huge matchbook fan, but this is keeping them from becoming one of the top books around...

beetman,

it also discourages large wagers...for instance if you deposit $1000 and bet and lose $500 on a game you are already working uphill to work off the commission credits...

eliminating the commission credits would help matchbook's bottom line because they'd get more action!...

It doesn't matter, if you make bets you use up the credits. The only way you build credits too high is deposit, then draw out after a win, then re-up the next day, and repeat this cycle.

I'll agree it probably keeps some out, but I prefer this method to only withdrawal a month or something.

Say you bet $100 a game, deposit $1,000, $29 fee, after about 15 winners the credit is used.

doug,

but if you deposit $1000 and bet $300-$500 a game and lose the first two or three then you lose out on the comission credits...

This is absolutely correct.

Even losers will win 45-50% of their bets and so write off their credits. It takes real talent to lose more than 55%, if you find such a good fade please let me know.

santo,

I guess my statement should be that you lose them, unless you decide to deposit again, in which they just stockpile on top of themselves...still a pain in the ass when I can get the same juice at pinny and not have to worry about these damn things...

What is the worry?

You do win eventually don't you?

Least I hope so.

But Matchbook has lots of markets that aren't 50/50 type propositions, like moneylines and future bets. I started using Matchbook for golf and it took me a long time to earn my commission credits. If you're betting +3000, +4000 type things, it can take a while to win a bet.

Look at it as a bonus then, you bet it there because they had the best line. Most play stuff like pointspreads and ml's on stuff like mlb and nhl, that gets used up quick, even those +4000 bets eventually hit.

fishhead,

yes, I win...that's not my worry...my worry is that is just frickin' bothers me that I have to work these things off when I can play at pinny or even cascade, get the reduced juice and not have to give them almost 4% of each deposit and then work it off...they'll get my action during college basketball for sure this year, but I might not post up with them during college football next year...I'm just telling you around the industry talking to players, this is the one thing that keeps matchbook from being a truly elite book...

Ok Pags

It has never bothered me in the least because I love the fact that I'm able to do UNLIMITED FREE withdrawls there on a daily basis via Neteller ............and the commission credits for the LARGE majority of the time are not built up in my account but on rare occassions. Even when they are, no biggie as I eventually know they will be down to zero quickly with the amount of action that I give them.
