When Granderson fell down in cf in 7th tonight, first thing that crossed my mind is that the baseball gods were giving one back to us and evening the score from 1968 WS Game 7 when Flood stumbled and messed up Gibson's gem and Cards WS. Only thing we have left is to bring Dekinger in for tomorrow night's game at first so he can call a Tiger out when he is safe to complete the cycle!

How about Mookie Blaylock pinch hit for Preston and hit a slow dribbler to first?

How about this....

Cards down 3-2 in the 9th inning, Jones pitching to Rolen. Rolen hits a swinging bunt to third, Inge picks it up and he is out but wait Dekinger calls him safe. Casey, Polonco, and Leyland are going bananas. Then Edmonds hits a texas leaguer that drops over Guillen who dove and had it tip off his glove. Rolen advances to third. Wilson in to ph for Duncan as Ledezma enters the game. First pitch is a ball. Edmonds takes second uncontested. Next pitch and a swing and its a groundball to Casey. This should end it but wait he doesn't get the glove down as Rolen scores. Here comes Edmonds!!!! Go Crazy Folks Go Crazy as Edmonds scores and the Cards win the WS. Speakers start blaring out Celebration on the loud speakers and Cards celebrate and confetti goes through the sky. Then we hear this whisper from the sky and it is Jack Buck saying ....That's a Winner! A World Championship Winner for the Cards!

How about this...

Bottom of the 8th inning the Cards lead 6-0..You see in the jumbotron
"Congratulations to the St. Louis Cardinals 2006 World Champions"

Rodney comes in and pitches a 1,2,3 inning.

Top of the 9th now....
Mainwright gets Rodriguez and Polanco for the first 2 outs...Inge Doubles...PH Gomez is HBP...Granderson gets a double 2 in...Monroe singles to center....Granderson scores...Gillen Walks..Ordonez walks....Bases loaded 3 in and Pudge coming to the plate....HITS A WALKOFF HOMERUN!:monsters-

Then Todd Jones shuts the door in the bottom of the 9th.

Series. "That's a winner! A World Series Winner for the Cardinals!" Gotta quote the legend correctly. I wonder what that man is doing right about now. Do they have Budweiser in heaven? I miss him. This one's for Jack.

ibethuge,
First of all, can't have a walkoff as a visiting team as you know. But all kidding aside, I do feel for Tigers fans if they lose. No animosity on my side and I know that you guys live and die with your team as much as we do. Series in all seriousness is not over yet and your never know. Dont' take any of our fun to heart as we are simply celebrating among us Cards fans. Never thought we would have this opportunity to win it in STL and think we are all excited that we may have chance to celebrate at home. BOL

Know hat you mean Kojak...I think the best feeling for Cards fans is that you were underdogs in every series. So it only makes it sweeter.
