Woman Wins Biggest Proline Lottery In Ontario History

Tuesday October 24, 2006
We've all seen those Proline commercials depicting a wild, unpredictable turn of events that gives a gambler, invisibly emblazoned with horseshoes and four-leaf clovers, the improbable but highly profitable winning ticket. The commercial always end with the seductive mantra, 'because anything can happen!'" Newcastle, Ontario's Sarah Mabee is now the living, breathing epitome of that rare breed of individuals who make all the right picks despite an admitted lack of knowledge in the sport they are wagering on.
In Mabee's case, that sport was football, and despite having never ever seen a game, she deftly picked 13 out of 13 winners over the weekend, raking in a cool $444,186.
Mabee was the only person to come forth with a perfect ticket on what for her started as an imperfect Sunday.
"My car, I have an old beater, and it wouldn't even go into drive and then I forgot my work-bag, like my uniform and stuff," the hard-working waitress explains. "Then I went to the beer store to get beer for the game and I dumped my entire wallet all over the beer store floor."
What proceeded to take place on football fields across North America was anything but unfortunate. Game after game, Mabee marked off the winners.
As a waitress, she's used to scooping up tips, but now that she's a big winner, she's more than happy to give a few out. For those looking to take a stab at Proline immortality next week, Mebee advises taking Green Bay, Atlanta, and New Orleans.
