Just got back tonight from St Louis. What a great time it was. Viking611 got on a flight Friday morning from Tampa. Picked him up and we were off to Hooters, where we guzzled......errrrrr sipped beers in anticipation of the big game. Headed to Busch at about 5:45, and there were no scalpers to be found. Tons of people holding their fingers up asking for tickets, but there were just no tickets on the streets. 1 hour before the game, we called a ticket broker, and he had Bank of America Club suites tickets for $850 apiece. We said no thanks, and kept looking. No dice, so we called him back 15 minutes before the first pitch. The price was $700 at that time, and we said WTF. When we are sixty years old, are we gonna want the memories, or are we gonna want the $700? Exactly. So we got inside just before the first pitch. The only time we spent inside the suite was to get free beer refills. The rest of the time, we were standing outside. The atmosphere was indescribeable. You don't get that feeling watching it on Fox. It was so much louder than I even thought it would be. 50,000 people wanting something so bad all at the same time. And tasting it more and more as the night went on. Once Weaver struck out I Rod, we started counting down with 9 outs to go. A few bumps in the road, but in the end, the Cardinals won the World Series. And we lived it. I would highly recommend spending the money to capture experiences just like these. The Arizona-Illinois game last year, and now this, these are memories that will last a lifetime.

Good to see you guys had a good time and got to go to the game.
Also good to see at least one of you is not in jail.
Now make sure Viking checks in.:toast:

Viking is at a bachelor party right now, and they were planning on spending a lot of hours at the strip club. So still 50/50 on getting arrested. After 2 hours sleep on consecutive nights, I took a pass and headed home. He is a champ. Never seen anyone that can drink 20 beers, go to sleep, and then get up and start drinking again.

Glad you had a great time Illini.

I understand the memories angle, I know some folks who flew the 5000 miles to Toronto and back to attend Streisand's sole Canadian date on her current concert tour.
