The saddest part is that the corporate culture bigwigs that raze places like the Stardust and/or a International/LV Hilton, isn't that they do not build better properties on those sites(of which they do)..

It's that they tend to not replace the same quality Sportsbooks that once stood there(and/or with it's same solid SB Managers), nor keep them with their same independent status once rebuilt as new properties..this if they weren't already swallowed up from independent status by sale before razing(like the Dust was)..

Most tend to become generic or satellites, or even when independent like the Wynn..a bit bland in offerings and numbers (sans the great decor and ZuZu Sandwiches)..

It would be a crime for the Dust and SuperBook to not be replaced with independent and/or solid sportsbooks, when the new properties are developed, and a waste of talent for a creative guy like Jay Kornegay to find himself without an independent and/or a fearless owner/boss that wanted to Book.

Thank the Lord for Gaughan owned properties..Michael Gaughan(classiest, nicest, most genuine Casino owner in LV) lets his guys book..from the great Pittsburgh Jack Franzi once upon a time at Barbary, over to currently the gent Don Williams at The Orleans.

Raze and Rebuild on it..but Replace and Restore it also!

You got to be fucking kidding me. Gaughan is an asshole. True, his sportsbooks are great but try playing blackjack and see what happens. I've seen Gaughan in the pit yelling at a couple of suites because someone won some money. No casino has barred more video poker players than the Coast properties.

BTW, Gaughan as of last week has no interest in the Coast Casinos, it is now completly runned by Boyd. Gaughan does own and South Point which was previously called the South Coast.

It is much more likely that it will be Circus, Circus. When the last 501 engineering contract was signed just short of two years ago, they refused to sign because they said they were likely not to be there in 5 years. An exception was made that if they close, they did not have to honor what was left of the contract.

With the Westward Ho completly razed now and the Dust closing it sits dead along with the Riviera. No real reason to go to that part of the strip anymore.

If Rod Smith writes it, give it about 20% chance of happening. Smith is a total joker, he hates gambling and has zero credibility with gaming insiders in this town. Lerner is just taking a guess, nothing more.

The whole thing makes zero sense. Colony has a ton of land to work with at the LVH property, if they just wanted to add features or condos they could easily do it. I could see them cutting down on the size of the book because the casino floor is rather small, but the Hilton isn't targeted at gamblers anymore. Its main feature is being next to the convention center, a very valuable feature these days. I could see them doing something to better connect it with the convention center and enlarging the convention areas in house, but nothing more. Razing the LVH and turning it into another City Center would be a massive folly and I just can't see how in that location any half-intelligent person would believe that is the best option.

Circus Circus will get razed, but it is too obvious. If I had to guess I would say Harrah's makes a lot of sense. With the company having so many properties, they could afford to take the hit and move customers elsewhere for a few years. The Harrahs property isn't much considering its premium location. Feels and looks very dated. Would be a nice part of the whole remodel of that core area if they decide to step up and spend the money. Imagine what they could do with the land of the IP and Harrahs. Next door to the Venetian they need to step up.
