Outside of St. Louis and Detroit, was anybody even watching this World Series besides gamblers? My apologies to both teams and their fans, to me this was the weakest, most boring match-up I have ever seen. I guess you cannot have a thriller every year like the San Fran/Anaheim WS. Or the Yankees and anybody....always seems to be plenty of action. But this year, outside of the detroit pitchers fielding their position....there was very little excitement. Zero comebacks and very few homeruns or even action. Well, got that off of my chest.....Congratulations to the cardinals and their fans......CC out.

It was easily the worst I have witnessed. You have a team that was barely over .500 make it and another team that did a huge choke job. Watching all the errors and poor plays was frustrating to watch.

I honestly felt sorry for Jim Leyland.....he said all of the right stuff.....but sometimes that is not enough.

I agree capn. Leyland is all class and to see your team give it away has to make you sick. St Louis played great at the end but they did not deserve to be in competition for the WS imo.

Leyland is definitely stand-up. He still speaks highly of Barry Bonds and not too many people anywhere do that.

definately one of the worst in my memory. Simply because it was two very mediocre ball clubs playing in it.

Mets/Yanks not too long ago was more boring

At least we had the Rogers drama and the fact Detroit went from being a regular fade to being in the WS.

Best World Series of my lifetime, obviously. You guys that are not Cardinals fans are really missing out. One trip to Busch Stadium and your hearts would be won over.

Well, maybe all of those better teams should have won their respective pennants so we could have had a "better" Series.

Go Tigers in 2007.

Laugh your ass off all you want. Just because you are a Cardinal fan(whom I kind of like as well) doesn't change the fact that it was two very mediocre ball clubs playing in the world series and if you don't believe that then you don't know shit about baseball. What was I wrong about on Detroit? They are very mediocre. Anyone can win in the playoffs as they are a short sample. That is how stuff like this can happen.

That was a very entertaining series. Went 7 games, that alone made it interesting. But that game 6 was something that will stay in baseball lore, the blown 5-0 lead will drive millions of people around the Bay Area mad forever.

Yeah the matchup didn't excite easterners, but still it had lots of good games and the way Barry just electrified games was good too.

This series on the other hand was a joke. Little clutch hitting except for Eckstein. Even the big stud Albert did nothing to change games. All the errors by the Tigers pitching weren't exactly what you would call sport at its highest level.

LOL comparing SF/ANA to this one? This was easily the worst W.S. I have ever seen, last years wasn't that exciting either.......Detroit stunk it up, throwing away game 4 clinched it .

Detroit proved you wrong from the minute you opened your mouth until the end of the year. It just doesn't matter what cocky supersharp Royalfan's power rankings say. They are irrelevant, and Detroit was a helluva ballclub. You were just flat out wrong. And the Cardinals played superb baseball in the playoffs for three straight series. That is the only thing that counts. That "mediocre" team played their asses off and would have beaten any team. Regular season wins don't count once you get to October. Just ask the Cardinals of 2004 and 2005.

Detroit in 4, huh? :dancefool The area around Busch is safe. It is a ghetto city though.
