Knocking out some figures for capping Basketball ( first time I've done it) and wanted to know what the norm was for Home advantage, I seem to recall it was 4 Pts.

o yeah, I was thinking strictly of NBA as opening night is tomorrow. It can definitly be larger than 4 in NCAA.

I have it set at 12.5. I did not do so well last year in hoops.

Winbet,

In your opinion, how big is the home advantage in soccer (in terms of goals)

I have it set at 0.25-0.40 goals depending on the league in question - how does that sound to you?

(Semi-off-topic, I know...)

WinBet, in the late 80's, the home court was worth 8 pts for UNLV and Oklahoma, and that wasn't enough. Good Luck

made a killing a couple years ago taking 4 team MVC teasers betting only two games. The home team would be favored by around 5 pts most of the time and win straight up and most of the time by less than 10...probably went 6 or 7-1 on those.

The accepted standard is 0.40 so I'm told but I'd pull a dummy out of a bucket full of Tits at the moment with Soccer.:drink:

According to my (new) calculations the home advantage is indeed 0.40 goals. (Average of the last 5 seasons in Premier League, Bundesliga, Primera Division and the Danish Superliga. 5,405 games in total)

A little higher in England (0.42) and Germany (0.47) - and a little lower in Denmark (0.37) and Spain. (0.36)
