absolutely nothing ?? I don't think that what happened years ago has any bearing on a current game.It is like comparing apples and oranges.Too often a trend is merely a manipulation of numbers/facts to prove a point/premise or to impress others with a bunch of meaningless statistics.

I agree to an extent

recent trends have value

some people make a living off betting certain situations/trends

for example

ive made a ton of money betting against a rookie or first time qb on the road vs. a good defense

teams off a bye week off a loss playing at home

different trends or situations will occur

some people can look at betting lines and see how something gets steamed, or just look at line movement and make a living that way...that would be a trend to an extent

but the way i use trends...i use recent trends....the past 2-3 years...only if it is the same coach usually and i use trends to help me finalize a play...or how much to put on it

if a trend is in my favor i may add a unit or two..if a trend is against me it will only be a small play

it is a tool

I agree and I should have made it clear that I was referring to ancient history facts.I generally will always bet against the new/rookie QB, but I'm glad that I didn't do so last night.

neither did i

no trend is worth betting blind like that, just for the sake of doing it, unless all of the other stars align with it

There are many situations that are historically profitable. I've been winning for years using situational plays.

Certain trends are worth following was it week 2 when Atlanta was home vs philly . Matt Ryan had an incredible 1st home game stat . As does Russell Wilson as did fading Kirk cousins in prime time. There is definitely value in some of these for sure.

Most trends are just plain random occurances. Some are irrlevant, anyway. Fools look at them and think they are significant. A pity.

Selling points by touts

Attention grab for numbers players

Only time I dig deeper to consider playing is when a trend involves bye weeks, rookies QB’s, QB’s off an injury, coaching connections

Trends do have an effect when its done by individual players or coaching
