doesn't look like Carnival gets many positive remarks. However we are all 25-28 guys who are going so we don't mind being on the "party" cruise.
Carnival is good for you noisy party guys, more mature cruisers (I'm 63) prefer Princess and Royal Carribean.

Another question for you guys - is seasickness ever an issue?
Depends mostly on the individual. I've only ever once had a problem, on a rough English Channel ferry crossing when they brought out the bowls and 90% were unwell. The big ships barely move in the Carribean. If you are susceptible I suggest wrist bands that are worn on wrist accupressure points. My wife uses them. They have the advantage of a non drug solution and never get used up. Best worn before feeling unwell. If you can't get any from a travel store they might have some on the ship. Also don't drink too much or it won't be seasickness. :toast:
SS had the right idea to take booze onboard at the original boarding, since you cannot get any except the ship's expensive stuff. The duty free in the stores is held until you disembark.

There is a casino onboard....hopefully with a pokerroom. Anyone have any suggestions about what to do and/or other general comments?
Almost no chance of a poker room. The casino will offer standard games at terrible odds (you're not going next door after all). Should be plenty of onboard entertainment and optional trips you can buy at ports of call, snokelling, scuba diving, jet skis etc.
Have a great time!
