Several things - one being both titles were assisted and neither is winning again.

On yahoo's front page they featured an article that was saying through computer simulation the heat are a better team with ZO in the lineup rather than SHAQ

And I agree, I dont think the heat repeat. Youve seen Shaq in this shape before with LA and, it wasnt pretty.

Shaq is just washed up - him being the "most dominant player" is a big joke - and their stuck with his salary for 5 years.

Shaq has 5 years left?

I'm not sure if Miami would have lost anyway though...Dallas should have never let them in that position, period.

Wade won't get EVERY call this season.

Shaq, Payton & Alonzo are OLD..

Wade will continue to get the foul calls just like Jordan did. They can go deep in the playoffs without Shaq. You guys are off your rocker

Oak Hills Academy would go deep in the Eastern Conference playoffs - nothing changes the fact that the Heat aren't winning another title - this ain't the Lakers, Bulls or Spurs - this is what you call a fluke with assistance.

agree totally. Seems to be the COOL thing to do now (calling out fluke titles and give credit to the refs)

Get over it, it' all apart of sports. It's so easy to rip teams and blame officials. They won the title and history will ALWAYS say that.

4 in a row can never be considered a fluke by sheer definition

OK, but let's agree that the Heat will not win again within the next 5 years barring a major player move.

what a rediculous statement. Wade carried them, not Shaq and he is going to get more calls as long as he keeps driving the paint. This is GAME 1 of a long season. The Heat started crappy last year and came together as a unit when it counted. They will be one of the favorites each year for the next 5 because of Wade. They may or may not win another championship in that time, but to say they absolutely won't is nonsense

this is why i hate the NBA! YOU BREATHED ON ONE OF OUR YOUNG STARS! FOUL! You touched Lebron's pinky! FOUL! You got within 3 feet of Wade while driving to the basket! FOUL!

Come on, how ridiculous is that NBA? If you are a young star and drive the lane, you can just crash into someone wildly and pick up a blocking foul. Seriously, I remember a Maverick guarding another dude and just looking at him in the NBA finals and Wade crashing into the Maverick (while the Mav was moving, he had no idea where Wade was) and Wade get 2 shots from a blocking foul. Hilarious. I promised I won't ever watch the NBA again after that and I can honestly say I never will. Not until something drastic changes.

This is the new NBA. This is the game they want. They do not want shooters, they want guys who can move with the ball. Like it or not this is the style of play most people like to see. Who wants to see a 3 point shooting contest the whole game? The fans want baseline drives and in your face shots and dunks. The NBA has embraced this with their hand checking rules and their rewarding driving players.

yes it was the refs

actually every basket Miami made was actually a miss, but the refs were there for the tip-in

this board is full of haters

every single team that has a won a title recently has been ragged on for one thing or another

"so and so is the worst champion in recent memory"

"so and so just got hot"

"refs did this...."

"injuries that"

"fluke"

"it'll never happen again"

Whatever helps you people sleep at night I guess. :puppy:

Let's look at the recent NBA - has anyone ever questioned these teams -
the Spurs, the Lakers, the Bulls or the Pistons? And yes, the refs gave the Lakers the series over the Kings one year - they literally took the title from the Kings - but no one talks about it any more because the Lakers validated everything by winning other titles - even the Steelers who blatantly won the SB because of officiating are hard to really question after they won in Cincy and dominated Indy - but one thing remains certain this Heat team will never win again barring a major player move, like Garnett - one and done and never to be heard of again - so yes, it was a fluke - let me remind everyone - THE HEAT WERE UNDERDOGS IN THE SERIES WHEN THEY LED 3-2!

Let me add that D. Wade is a one man gang - who literally won a title all by himself in Jordan fashion - man was he awesome.
