As many of you may know, I am part owner of a couple of race horses.
Well, tonight I finally got my first victory when my filly Sensational Diva ran away from the field in the 8th at Penn National.
Felt really good to take the oh-fer off of the scoreboard.

SS,
I was at work all day and was going to go down the street to make a bet (I can't bet at my own place or the ones we own), but didn't get the time.
She went off at 3/5 so wouldn't have paid much anyway.

I was thrilled with the victory and the purse pays enough to cover the bills for a few months.

GreenDober: Congrads on breaking your cherry. It's a feeling that's hard to explain. Those animals are something to be around. Way to go.
Is lil' Lester Jr. still your trainer ? His win rate this year is light weight, 16% is mediocre at best. Keep it up, you can't start a win streak without winning the first one. Good luck to you.

Congrats GreenDoberman, what was the stake of the race, if you don't mind me asking. Just wondering what level the horse runs at. Also is it Harness, thourobread?

I certainly wouldn't consider 16% to be "mediocre at best". Slightly above average if anything else with 15% being average. Hitting for 22% at PEN which says his shippers are running up the track.

Gmon: Yes, he is.
They did very poor at Delaware this year, continually getting beat by Lake-Juice's horses.
The thought was the shippers back to Penn would do well.

Cheater,
T'breds, this horse is a filly 3 yo.
Was a 4000 N2L race. Pretty much the bottom of the barrel. Some awful horses in the field, and it would have been a big disappointment to lose to these donkeys.

That winning feeling is hard to describe to those who don't know it. Has been quite a few races, but the wait was worth it.

Big Congrats!!!!
I remember vividly what it was like to win my first race as an owner.
It was a photo finish ( knew I won the photo) sprinted to the winners circle, walked into the circle then just turned around 360 degrees absorbing everything I could.
I treasure my winner circle pics.

GD,
When was the last time you walked down or near the shedrow of Scott Lake at any one of his stables?
