Have been studying line movement the past few months in a few sports and getting pretty good at it, even though it can be risky.

I see one with great poetential by taking a lead right now and betting some (or all) of the other side tomorrow.

I think Cleveland Cavs -4 (Pinny -112 and Greek -110) has to go WAY up up before tipoff tomorrow. They are playing the LOWLY Bobcats and they are coming off a HUGE win in San Antonio tonite.

The win tonite establishes that the Cavs are to be reckoned with this year and I don't think no way the public (esp square weekend bettors) bet against King James with the pathetic Bobcats.

Good comparision is Minnestoa is -3 against Portland on the road, a team they had 12 more victories then and Cleveland is -4 over Charlotte on the road , a team they had 24 more victories.

Have to think this goes WAY up to at least -6, opening up a decent middle. A 2 point middle in NBA is VERY GOOD.

So I say take Cleveland -4 right now and WAIT till sometime tomorrow when the +6 Bobcats pop up and then clobber them.

I may be wrong but I don't think they get any easier than this for reading the market and taking a lead.

Not saying you aren't right on what the line will do, but the bobcats can win the ballgame. They are better than you think.

I am not saying they can't. What I am saying is that line looks to low to the public. People like to bet small favorites in the NBA and when you see 2 teams that are PERCIEVED (the key word) as quite a few levels apart then you will see line movement. The win against San Antonio (on the road is the key) will only increase the love the public has for the Cavs in this game.

I know, poorly worded by me. Should have said better than the public thinks, not you. If it goes any higher the play should be the bobcats.

When I take a lead (which isn't that often) I like to ask myself if the number could ever go against me and in this case I say no. I could be wrong but I can't see people flocking tothe windows to bet the Bobcats.

Not a big better of NBA games but if I have a edge against the closing line I will stay heavy on that side. I have $500 Cleveland -4 right now and looking to buyback some but most likely not all if this number moves up.

Just curious as to how you perceive the NBA lines will move tommorrow. This is the first weekend of the year, but the public may be tied up with college football and Breeders Cup.
Just wondering how much action, if any, the NBA will get.

Iceman,
If your theory is correct, you may want to look at Utah as well. Big (perceived) win on road at Phoenix and coming home to face a lesser Golden St. team.

dont say i didnt warn you. if you are going to do it this way, you have to asky yourself why am I getting the good line. You are saying it is because the square public perception is that the line should go up. Yet you are going to stay heavy on that side? I normally agree, but not when it is square play moving the line. Like Doberman said, there may not be much movement at all.

Looks like the Spurs may be an underperforming team again in the 2nd game on back-to-back nights.

clippers played last night, not the lakers. The Cavs game already ended with the Bobcats winning straight up. Welcome to the NBA.

Is that post just to be an asshole to Iceman, or is it to past post a winner and claim that you had bet it, even though the line never moved? Either way, I'm not a fan of it.

Should have been pretty evident by my posts that I liked and was going to be on the bobcats. Certainly not trying to be an asshole to Iceman. Dude brings a ton to the forum. You on the other hand, are starting to really act strange of late. Hopefully things start going better for you man. Seem like you have multiple personalites.

Pretty much correct, trying to help another poster out, that appeared to be getting ready to play Cleveland for a decent chunk. Always try to help when I can WVU, that even includes you believe it or not.

how did flashing that money help anyone?

It didn't and wasn't necessary. Just the first time I had heard the score and was happy to find out I had won. Check out the time of the post and check out the thread about whiskey and give me a break on this one. It also is not as big of a deal as you guys are making it out to be. The information I gave in this thread, far outweighs the celebration of the bobcat win with the cash logo.
