Just wanted to get your opinion on Journeys new lead singer,Jeff Soto.
I saw them twice last week and thought he was great. No not better than Steve Perry but I think he is the best replacement they can get.He has a lot of energy.I enjoyed both shows.Played a good mix of songs.I wonder if they will do a new CD with him?

Funny you mention that I just recently started following them again because I saw this guy Jeff Soto...I have to admit this guy can actually pull it off,,,this guy is incredible....While there will never be another voice like the original, Soto has his own unique style and has an incredible voice of his own....I would be very surprised to hear that Journey switched back to Augeri...I may even have to check them out now.

I would be very interesed in hearing a CD with Soto on it...if you check YouTube there is a lot of new video footage of Journey with Jeff Soto...he is damn good, he's done a lot of Queen cover songs as well and doesn't make himself look bad trying to sing those songs.

He does a song with Neil Schon that has a classic Journeyish sound to it...good stuff.

If you search around youtube you will see a recent concert from the Hollywood Bowl, he can pull it off- no doubt.

One thing is for sure Neil Schon is still an amazing guitarist...been going strong since 1971 at age 15 with Santana...that is nuts.

In the late 70's, was fortunate to catch JOURNEY playing at a very small bar in IOWA...........had never even heard of them when I saw them.

Think the year was 1978.

Saw them last week in Birmingham and in Atlanta.I was very impressed.I took my Girlfriend because she loves Def Leppard but I think Soto stole the show. She enjoyed Journey the most.He even sang older non smash hits like "Escape" and "Chain reation" and sounded incredible
I saw them twice in the last years before Soto with the previous guy Steve Augeri (I think I spelled that right) .He is not in Sotos league.I would buy a new cd by them the day it would go on sale.

From what I have seen, and everything I have heard , Jeff Soto is amazing....and I did happen to catch Chain Reaction and Escape , and totally agree with you....I am sure Journey realizes it too...I would also buy it the day it came out...I would buy a CD with this guy singing even if he wasn't with them...he is damn good...Check out that youtube link if ya can.
