I got a washington mutual account I closed. And it is currently like 50.00 bucks over the limit. Yeah not much, but none the less it is over.

But my most recent statement had a 35.00 overlimit fee.

Is this still legit since the account has been closed for about 3 months.

I must be mis informed. I thought if you had a card with a balance you could still call and request it be closed to avoid some fees. I did this back in August over the phone and when I call the automated system it verified my account was closed.

Apparently closing out my account did no more for my fees than before. In calling the company they stated this is just done to prevent the balance from being used up again after the debt is paid down.

:realtongu pointless

they gave me a temporary low rate for 6 months to help it be paid off faster

Wamu will get you soem way or another. They raised my interest to 29% becuase my payment was 2 days late. Come to find out they cash my check 3 days before the due date. Took four months for them to get the rate back down but would not subtract the higher rate it was at for 4 months. To make a long story short moved my balance to another card and closed that account. Never again will they get a cent from me.

you can still lcose an accountwith a balance and you still are charged interest and fees, also keep in mind the credit card company can also request payment in full if your account is closed at any time

Yeah never close an account you cannot payoff right away. They will jack up the interest rate to the limit. One of the biggest mistakes people make. It is actually better to never close a credit card if there is no annual fee, but that is a longer discussion.
