There are always bad lines out there for a number of reasons:
public is wrong, momentum, history, etc.

I hav developed a 'system' that exposes these and will post accordingly. This system has fewer plays (1-3 per day tops) and uses a 1,3,5,10 unit rating based on the points of badness from the system.

Here goes:

San Jose over 5.5 -105 5 units for 4.76

bad why (just curious)?

Couldn't every bet everyone makes be considered a bad line or they wouldn't feel they had an edge.

The line is over 5.5 +104 at Pinnacle right now. Good Luck!!!

some lines are more out of whack it seems, and then when I follow them up with research, it sometimes makes sense to bet them if the points add up

I have been mock betting since the end of August and have had success. Now for the real test.

Are you talking bad lines i.e totals/sides,etc or bad prices? You claim that the San Jose game was a bad line ( I agree the total should have at least been 6, you can check my play posted in the hockey forum ) but you took a terrible price -105 when you could have got +104 at Pinny all night.

At present I don't play at Pinny, but only at Bet365 and BetCris. -105 was the best price.

I search for bad lines, ie tonight that 5.5 was too low for these teams. I handicap each game before I look at the lines then compare these to the betting lines. Then my research begins (momentums of the teams coming in, history of this matchup, goaltenders, etc). I also look at the prices. The +105 or -105 made little difference tonight and in general, on the total plays is somewhat irrelevant (but, I know adds up in the long run). If Pinny continues to offer the better price, I wll load there as I am aware that Bet365 has some bad prices.

I also do look if my plays are matched by proven winning handicappers or handicappers that may be hot at the time. These all add points to the situation.

Fair enough. I agreed with you on the San Jose game and made it my only play of the day. There was no way that line should have been below 6, and it definitely shouldnt have been plus juice on the OVER throughout the night. If you have the patience you can find bad totals in the NHL, but patience and discipline are the key ( as with all betting ).

Good luck.

Thanks, Syd.

Over/under trends are very beatable in the NHL. Other factors include powerplay trends of teams (hot or cold) and checking the starting goalie.

Once again there is no bad lines!!!! There is a such thing as a bad side.
Ex. Louieville -6 not a bad line if you took Ruthgers. I love it when someone tells me "Man my book is screwing me they give me all bad lines." But if you were to take the other side the book would be giving you a free point. So where does a bad line come into play? BAD SIDES
