What will Rutgers be ranked?

By Rutgers winning it lowers all the big east rankings. The best thing for the big east would have been for Louisville to go undefeted and make people wonder how good was the big east.

Now everyone knows the big east is NOT a top conference. It's the same thing with Boise State. If Boise State would lose a game in their conference then everyone says the conference is pretty weak. By Boise State going undefeted everyone questions how good they are and how good is the conference?

Rutgers should be no higher than #15. They beat an overated Louisville team who just beat an overated West Virginia team. That is how the experts will look at it.

If Louisville wins this game then everyone would still have no clue how good the league is? Are they all really good and Louisville is the best of them all, or are they all just average and beat each other with no dominant team?

I agree with that.... I think they are brought back to earth big time against W. Virginia.

Still give them credit though as a 11-1 season is nothing to sneeze at.

absolutely, they are a very good team, top 15-20 worthy without a doubt imo, maybe higher... we'll see what they do against the mountaineers

AT THIS POINT they should be 3rd. but of course they will not be. division 1 colloege football the only organized football of any kind that decides their champion via opinion instead of playoff, what a joke!

I don't know if I could vote them third with a straight face, if they want that type of respect they have to go out and schedule some teams that are worth a shit in their nonconference games. However, if they defeat wvu in the moutaineers backyard, they will have an argument.

Rutgers 3rd?????? LMAO.... they should hope to make top 10. If they played in the SEC they might not be a .500 team

This Rutgers ascension very similar to Ga Tech in 1990. They were under the radar undefeated as rising Virginia (under Welsch steadily improving with a couple bowl wins commencing 1985) was atop polls behind their senior qb(Moore). Well lo and behold both teams meet in Charlottsville undefeated with Ga Tech having a tie(I think) at the 8-9 game mark. Cavs an 14 pt fav and jump out to early lead yet before my shocked eyes Sean Jones leads Jackets to an improbable win and jumps team into national champ conversation. Jackets go one to win a share with Col by beating my Huskers in lesser NYD bowl game (Citrus Bowl i think). Really didn't buy fact that Ga Tech no 1 worthy as they came from weak conference (ACC not very good prior to Fla st joining in next couple years)

Rutgers season eerily similar and I would have them 7 now and a road win at WVU puts them in consideration but we all know that there are 6-7 teams better than any from Big East as they would have high % of going undefeated in that conf while any Big East team would most likely lose 2 conf games in the other BCS conferences.

I disagree entirely with most of what has been said. It is very likely that WV, Louisville, and Rutgers will all finish 11-1 with all 3 losses to conference opponents. That does not make the conference look bad. It makes the conference look solid. They are a 5 team deep conference. The only other conference that could really say that is the SEC.

SEC teams beat up on each other every year and it does not make them look bad. They also rarely have big wins over non-conference opponents. Why should that be any different than the Big East this year?

The Big East is solid. The best teams in the Big East can play with the best teams in any conference. How quickly you guys forget the "overrated" WV team that dismantled the highly rated Georgia team in the Sugar Bowl last year. The best of the SEC got beat by the best of the Big East. The same could happen this year.

I still can't believe the performance by WVU vs Louisville, they were the team that appeared to be the real deal.. Improving off of what they did down the stretc hlast year and then destroying Georgia in the Sugar.

WVU was in the driver seat and forgot the keys.

As for Rutgers, if they beat WVU a BCS Bowl is deserving...that for them is like going to the BSC Championship, even they would have to realize they can only go so far playing in a second teir conference and starting the season unranked.

They won't beat WVU anyway though.

6th to 9th

They won't get a full blown backing unless they can beat WV. At least Rutgers has played someone in the Top 25.....unlike Boise.
