Vick completed only 16 of 40 passes for 197 yards, but had the Falcons in position to pull off a comeback with a 55-yard pass to Roddy White, who made a tumbling catch at the Cleveland 17.

The Falcons quarterback took off running on the next play, appearing to get another first down, but a holding penalty on Eric Beverly negated the play.

"That right there determined the outcome of the game," Vick said. "We could have been on the 5-yard line."

What an asshole. Don't blame Beverly because you fucking choked and and you yourself knocked the football out of your hands the next play to lose the game.

I can maybe think of 1-5 players that I enjoy seeing play poorly more than Michael Vick.

Why does Vick get cut so much slack? How many QB's would have been benched if they had performed like Vick has over the past few seasons. This is his 6th season in the NFL and he has established himself as a very ordinary QB at best.

There is a huge difference between what he is capable of doing if/when all of the planets are aligned, and what he does on a weekly basis. Ive grown tired of waiting for him to show us his skills on a consistent basis, and surely the Falcons must be close. Atlanta will not be a consistent playoff team until they get someone that they can rely upon consistently, and Vick has shown that he is not their, or the man for the job.

Vick doesn't put up great numbers by any stretch, but when he plays for the ATL, this team wins and gets to the playoffs and wins a few games when they are there. It's comical to me how this guy has gone just as far as Peyton Manning in the playoffs yet no one will acknowledge it. Just like it took Tee Martin to QB the Vols to a Nat. Title as soon a Manning got out the door, Manning is still the golden child.
Because Vick doesn't put up 'fantasy football' numbers he gets bashed week in and week out. Christ, Cleveland was in the backfield all friggin game. ATL would have been on their 2nd string QB if they had a normal 'stiff' at QB that everyone is clamoring for. There were 2 dropped TD's in the game alone for ATL.
People love to bash the black QB.
Sit back and ask yourself what other QB's you would rather have leading your team in the NFL today. I cant get past 3 before choosing Vick.
In the right offense, Vick is unstoppable. He is the neutralizer to the rediculous athletes on the defensive side of the ball in the NFL.
Steve Young, Elway, even Tarkenton didn't catch hell like this kid does. Compare their wins to Vick's at this point of their career's.

I'd take half the qb's in the league over him...and growing up in the 80's I think there are 2 qb's right now that would be in the top 10 back then....Brady and P. Manning...that tells you how little I think of him...

If you don't think race plays into the public opinion of a player, go sit in a sportsbook on a college basketball/ football weekend, sports bar or visit a party and listen to the comments and conversation. It does play a bit into the bashing IMO. Just what I've noticed over the years, thats why I mentioned the Tee Martin/ P. Manning situation.
I think its naive to think it doesn't create a little bias when you listen to samples of the general public.

As for passer rating, if I'm not mistaken it is geared for completion percentage and TD's completed/ attempt. If you're in a run 1st, deep ball offense, you might accumulate a terrible QB rating and win quite a few games, a-la the 70's Raiders. If you're facing 3rd and long every time you're attempting a pass chances are you're not gonna have an 85 plus rating.

Don't be surprised when Vick and ATL are playing deep into the playoffs this year.

Michael Vick some weeks can be the worst QB of all time.......then, some weeks.........he can be the best of all-time. No such thing as an 'average' week with this guy. I did like his commercials though. Mike gets alot of publicity just because of his astronomical potential......but it seems like he will be retired before he ever gets close to realizing that potential........either way.....I wish him well.

The truth is half the time the guy shreds defenses and half the time he can't get a single thing right. But in his defense, there were a shit-ton of dropped passes this Sunday, although his fumble and interceptions certainly don't help...

TOTALLY disagree. I've often seen when a gambler loses a bet he lets his real stereotypes and racist attitudes come out because he is so strung out. Racism and stereotyping are alive and well in this country and gamblers are right in the mix. Sure, if a gambler wins a bet he doesn't care about race, but when he loses and has some tendencies, they come out in a hurry. The real people I worry about are people like you who like to think it's not even a problem anymore, or furthermore actually blame people who talk about racism as people who dont take responsibility for their actions. Sad stuff

hmm okay well i created this thread more as a character attack on Vick rather than questioning his skills, but here are a few thoughts...
- Vick has gotten as far as Manning in large part because the NFC has been a much much weaker conference. ATL wouldn't have made the playoffs any of the past few years if they were in the AFC. I can't remember the last time Manning MISSED the playoffs.
- I didn't criticize Vick at all as a black QB. I criticized him for being an arrogant prick that pretends to be accountable but really isn't at all.
- In the "right" offense Vick is unstoppable? That's like saying in the right offense Vince Young is unstoppable. Could be the case, but we'll never find out.
- Seemingly Vick's only saving grace is that he plays fairly well on primetime/big games, see Pittsburgh this year and Carolina 2 years back.

Regardless, all I'm saying is that he fucked up last game and has been fucking up. Take some responsibility for your shitty play. If they were in the AFC they would have ZERO chance of making the playoffs this year. Lucky for them TB is on a down year, Carolina hasn't played up to potential, and NO is only now playing well, for the past couple years they've been shit.

For every 5 games Vick plays. 3 of them are bad, 2 of them are good. this guy won't win a super bowl, i don't care what team he has around him.
