Any hockey experts out there? Why are the Flyers +1.5 -$1.65? Normally, a team would be +1.5 -$1.85 or even -$2.00, anybody know?

Okay, one more hockey question. Why is the Colorado Avalanche nicknamed the Avs and not the Av?

Thank you both. My question was more, why don't the M.L. and the puck lines correlate closer to the normal correlation.....if you can understand that? :think2: :think2: :think2: Not sure I do.

total is kind of high at 6.5, maybe books want to take action on Phil +1.5 ? I'd lay the 1.5 on Pitts before taking the 1.5 on Phil.

Very interesting question. I checked back and MLs around +150 this year usually means +1.5 -185-200 range, most totals at 6. Perhaps like Doug said, the total set at 6.5 may have an influence. Higher scoring game especially by the Pens less likely to be close?

Thanks for all the responses.....I used the 'right' line on the game with a slight moderation. Everybody in the world took Pittsburgh minus the goal and a half plus money. We just got lucky to take the money down but, it just as easily could have gone the other way. Thanks again guys.
