This show is awesome and is nothing but a craps game on TV. Pure gambling. I love it.

I think this is one of the worst shows on television for exactly the reason you mentioned...no skill/talent involved whatsoever.

I know, but I like it. I guess that's why I'm a craps table degenerate. Roll the dice, baby!

I wouldn't say there is no talent involved as you could calculate the odds against the offers and see what is +ev. Although during the times I've watched it didn't seem like any of the contestants were doing that...

I agree that it has some kind of magnetic appeal. Whenever I turn on the TV and it's on, I tend to leave it. Generally it takes until the commercial break to snap me to my senses. Then I realize that I am watching a mindless show with that tool Howie Mandel.

He definitley should have taken the 236K. But I know I would have pressed exactly like he did. Just like at the craps table, I always tell myself "one more, then I'll take everything down." Then it becomes "just one more, I promise." :smoker2:

Why do you need to watch the show more than once? Complete waste of time.

Most things in life are trivial. I have only seen the show 3 times now, but have enjoyed it a lot. Love to watch people get taken over by their degenerate side. And it's fun to root for them to take down the house.

THink about it, why would they ever give someone a +ev offer? Its lose, lose for them. If they take it, the house just lost an edge and if they don't take it, its great TV drama even if they do get lucky and hit it big.

By the way, i saw howie in vegas last weekend and he was pretty freakin hillarious.

I think it's a great case study every week on why gamblers lose. Greed takes over everyone of them, and the decisions they make are not rational. It is the ultimate high stakes craps game. Maybe it will get old, but like I said, I've only seen it 3 times so far, and I've enjoyed it. I figured it would be the kind of show that RX posters would love, since it's all about gambling. But it seems that the majority don't like it at all.

Illini I love the show myself.. I was actually glad to see that guy walk away with only 100k cause he was a cocky son-of-a-bitch..

That show gives away more money than any other show I have ever seen.

Seems like everyone at least walks away with 100k or more unless they are extremely unlucky or just crazy/stupid...

The show is fun but it is 100% boring until there only 5-6 cases left and then you get some drama.
I am just waiting for the episode when there is two case left.
One has a penny.
One has a million.
Bank offer is around a $500,000.I want to hear the guy say NO DEAL...Then There will be a very dramatic moment

Did you know that:

Howey has obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and mysophobia (fear of germs) to the point that he does not shake hands with anyone, including enthusiastic contestants on Deal or No Deal. Instead of shaking contestants' hands when they offer them, he will give the contestants congratulatory gestures such as: tapping another's fist with his own fist, hugging them, and putting his hands on their shoulders. Howie now takes medicine to control his condition and even pokes fun at himself for it.

He revealed on The Howard Stern Show that his shaved head is not related to natural hair loss, but to his mysophobia. He stated that the lack of hair makes him feel cleaner.
