Yo Fish' ...

Posted my Chase Champion selection in the Nascar Forum back on September 15th.

With only this week's race remaining,my chances of cashin' are pretty decent.

Who'd you have,to win the Chase?

Talladeaga bets this year race #2: Johnson $80 to win $600
Junior $60 to win $420

We all remember what happened. 1 lap top go Johnson about to pass Junior for victory and asshole teamate Vickers takes Johnson out who than subsequently takes out Earnhart. I went from a mortal lock for a good payday to a zero in a blink of an eye.

Up for the year..........UNDER $1,000.

Have really not given Nascar enough investment analysis this year as in years past.....not even close.

LAZINESS is the only excuse.

I think NASCAR is by far the easiest sport to wager on.So many ways to make money and a wide variety of ways to hedge your longshots, which is where the $$$$ lies.

Easiest sport to make money in ??? May I ask your approach. I've just dabbled with head to head matchups with mixed results

4 types of bets you can make money on

1. pole bets: only pinnacle offers it....kahne on 1.5 mile tracks $$$
2. qual matchups: use similar tracks to do this...but sometimes qual draw screws you as cars that go out later (temp lowers..track speed increases)
will go faster.
3. to win bets: hard to hit...as best car doesn't win half the time
4. race matchups: use happy hour times...usually faster car in Happy hour will win matchup unless they are involved in wreck or car breaks down.

Ya I agree its the easiest sport aswell, the biggest factor in head to head matchups is how a driver does on a certin track also qualifying is a big factor its affects the odds a lot and I feel its not as important as what the odds say, I like looking at pratice speeds more.

Made about $500-750 scalping matchups. To ignorant about the sport to attempt to bet it straight. Wish more books carried matchups and were on the screen:dancefool .

I don't bet on Nascar but I am in first place in a fantasy league I am in, by 1 point. I think the first place payoff is $300, 2nd place is like $150; not great but better than a sharp stick in the eye.

Way more than that:

I never bother with pre race wagers although theres money to be made there as well. For the race tho:

1.Head to head matchups
2.Over Under finish
3.Top 3
4.Top 5
5.To win SU
6.Manufacturer to win
7.Top driver for manufacturer
8.Car # to win
9.Speed row-more like a 4 person matchup
10.Then mixed bag of props like avg speed, yellow flags,# DNFs

Track pass costs money. You can the avg practices times (very important IMO) in the forum here on a link I posted for free.My advice is to read up on every single race each week.Find out who had run well over the last 5 years or so.Find out which cars, as in teams and manufacturers run well at the given track.Look to see how the last two or three races at THAT track has shaken out (ie fuel mileage, one driver domination,good/luck bad luck).Find out how starting position relates to victory and good finishes. Finally look at how any driver your interested in has run in just the last few recent races b/c success in NASCAR, as much as any other sport breeds more success and failure/bad luck almost always runs brings more bad luck.Very uncanny.

In the end,bad beats will occur, theres no way around it.Picking the best or strongest car on race day doesnt always equal $$$$.Thats why it important to back up your Top 3s and longshots with some other wagers containing value, which theres always is.

Hope I helped.
