Something tells me Michigan is now the play.

Talk about bleeding maze and blue.

Here is my two cents.

VERY surprised in how I see much of the media and publics take on this, as many more than I ever imagined believe this will have no effect on the game.

I totally disagree.

The Michigan "kids" will be playing with huge heavy hearts and TREMENDOUS EMOTION before and DURING their game with the Buckeyes.

On a personal note, I will be pulling for the BIG BLUE to spring the upset.

Quite a rivalry & hilarious history behind this game:

"Things have degenerated since 1897, judging by an account that year of Michigan's 34-0 victory: "The game (was) entirely free from slugging and objectionable features." ...

"In fact, relations have degenerated a lot. In the 1970s, Michigan fans came up with Woody Hayes toilet paper printed with the words, "Put Woody Where He Belongs." ...

"Wolverine fans visiting a Michigan tailgate this weekend have been advised to drive a car without Michigan license plates.

"An e-mail signed by the dean of students and presidents of Michigan Student Assembly says: "Keep your Michigan gear to a minimum or wait until you are inside the stadium to display it. If verbally harassed by opposing fans, don't take the bait." ...

"The University of Michigan is sending its own police to Columbus, providing a phone number for fans to call in case they need "support"."

etc

somehow this guy was hired as president of the detroit tigers and immediately fired lengendary tiger brodcaster ernie harwell. where does he get his balls to just walk in and fire a legend like that?

have never liked him since then. some guys formed a band called the dead schembechlers and were interviewed on the radio during the week. they also have a mysapce page. believe it is myspace.com/thedeadschembechlers or deadschembechlers

they have a good amount of knock off songs joking around about michigan foots.

Even with all that has happened i still think Michigan gets a huge ass whipping. Unless Bo is up there asking the big guy for a favor i don't see them scoring more then 13 points.

It's not like Mich needed any help to get motivated for this game. I have to wonder if this turns out to be a big distraction for them.

I think I'm just watching this one.

I liked Mich chances to cover the spread before this happened.

They would have had motivation enough. This may not help them win so much as people think.

Good luck and like TTinCO, I may just watch this one...I don't know.

I think this only hurts anyone who was planning on betting this game big, which way the motivation and extra incentive goes is anyones guess now...especially considering what is at stake.

Its very strange to see this man talking on Monday at that press conference, he didn't look bad, he still had the fire and wanted to beat Ohio State as much as ever.

I think I will be pulling for Michigan now and just watching it...I have always rooted for Ohio State.

Hey and I apologize for one thing: I didn't mean to dwell on just the wagering and covering angle of the game. I'm not heartless.

I am just saying that I'm not sure this unfortunate death will push the team on to victory today.

Having said all this, still have not made a wager on this game.

Why?

I believe OSU is definetly the better team.............and one more HUGE thing that worries me in taking the MICH side.........

Always a great game................I feel like the buckeyes are more explosive on the offensive side, but has Smith ever been faced with a front 7 like the wolverines have this year ? Very fast, and don't miss many tackles. I predict Smith is out of the game by the end of the 3rd quarter with an injury.
